How can one have a complete collection without at least one El Primero? For me, it is the wonderfully simple yet elegant 02.0500.400 chronograph.

I absolutely love Zenith watches, and have been hankering after an A386 for some time. I've owned a Striking 10th and Ultra Thin in the past but now just have the one, a 1989 De Luca (with the El Primero movement)...
(Lous, I'm speechless!)

Agree fully Zenith flies under the radar in general. So much so that I often see great El Primero models being for sale for many months without being sold. Good thing is that people who likes Zenith can often get them at attractive prices.
Deserves to be quoted in its full length including pictures!

Zenith makes some really nice looking pieces, but I do feel they lack superlative examples in most catagories. The excpetion being el primero chronos, which are iconic. I would seriously consider a classically styled el primero if adding another chrono (on top of Speedmaster Pro) to my collection down the line.

Zenith is one of the best. No other way about it. Anyone can get a PP or VC but a Zenith owner is probably interested in watches from the start.

14 october 2012 On Sunday afternoon, in Roswell, New Mexico, Red Bull Stratos, the mission to the edge of space, made history, with Felix Baumgartner breaking the speed of sound barrier during his 128,000 feet jump back to earth... In front of a global audience of millions who watched the mission live, Felix took off, ascending to a total of 24.5 miles in a stratospheric balloon before jumping out. While standing outside his capsule preparing to jump from the edge of space Felix said, "'Sometimes you have to go really high to understand how small you are." After accelerating to a top speed of 1342.8 km/h during a freefall of 4m 19s, Felix deployed his parachute, landing safely on the ground and toppling records that have stood for more than 50 years. In total, Felix's freefall saw him drop 119,846 feet before deploying his parachute As Felix dropped to his knees, raising his fists in triumph, it was a case of mission accomplished as the team celebrated the unique achievement which includes the breaking of three world records and which will also provide future aerospace projects with a wealth of research and data.

So now I'm really curious; in the picture above, does that not look almost exactly like an old-school Oyster rivet bracelet, clasp and all? When Zenith was making Daytona movements (not sure when that started/stopped), was there more collaboration between the companies?

Thank you gents for the appreciation. I did go at it whole hog - obsessiveness is a character trait of mine. I suspect I am not alone in this here.

Not all Defy models are that outrageous.
Love my Aero Classic. Look at the movement detail...

I've been eyeing Zenith for many years and came across this recently with the El Primero movement. So far it's everything I've expected.

Need more Zénith content
I'll probably get for raising the dead, but I have to agree that Zénith doesn't get enough press on TRF...
