I know that however, they are just fully programmable on set intervals ... Rolex works fine ... (needs 650 TPD) Panerai on the other hand needs 850 ...

Below taken from the manual ...

"Tpd (Turns per day) seTTing

Tpd 650 785 950 1150

Tpd 1920 2107 2335 2618

Tpd 2787 2880 3600

Tpd 1440 1570 1728 1838

tPds allow ± 3% varience."

I totally agree with your posts on this thread. I also do not want my watch artificially wore with a winder. Like any mechanical devices, less wear the better. Assuming it is well lubricated.

A cheap one that does its job is perfect for me!

Do you have any recommendation?

Would this one work just fine?

Your wrist!

Seriously, I don't mind at all setting any of my watches. In fact, I kinda like it! Any chance to play with them is okay with me. (we're still talking watches here, right? )

Just like many of the other posts I have the Brookstone dual winder and I am happy with it. I have a number of watches but only rotate between two of them on a regular basis. It is easy and convenient and I just grab whichever watch I want to go with in the morning on my way to work.

Think of a quality watch winder as another investment. Sure it costs a little more but will last for years. You'll get your money's worth in the long run. Good hunting!

Yup, Brookestone has affordable watch winders.

I agree - cannot beat for the price. Why spend a lot of money for real wood when it sits in a safe.

Brookstone's are pretty sweet.
But if you have some time to wait, keep checking Orbita's web site. They typically have a clearance on theirs. They are top shelf AND they look pretty sweet too.

And if you want one, don't let others talk you out of it.

Not true with Rolex. They are made to stay running. That's why a correct winder is good to have if you have more watches than wrists.

IMO Wolf winders are quality products. I have one as well as an Orbita Bellino watch winder. I prefer the Orbita because you can adjust the turns per day (TPD) where as the Wolf winder that I have is set at about 600 TPD. Just curious what type of watch do you have? Reason for asking some Rolex's may require more than 600 TPD. I have a Daytona and it requires 950 TPD, that's why I perchased the Orbita for that watch. Hope this helps.

Got my Wolf yesterday...

I recieved my Wolf yesterday and my initial impression is that it is very well made and very well thought out. I am waiting for my GMT to run down a little before I actually fire it up and let it wind for a few days.

So far I am very impressed with the fit & finish, it even came a little Wolf bag like a pair of Allen Edmonds

I'm not sure about Wolfs, but most winders are intended to keep a watch wound at more or less what they are at when put on a winder. That being said, waiting for the watch to wind down may not be the best practice. No harm with doing it or not doing it though.
