Traded 5 watches that were getting limited wrist time for the YG in April.

Traded 3 more plus some $$ for the WG in September.

Very pleased with the consolidation.

Congrats. Any words of wisdom for us? Looking back, what would you have done more of, less of, or differently knowing what you know now?

Net consolidation. My 5167a came in, but I sold an AP Royal Oak and a Patek 5127g. Not looking to buy anything.

…so how has your collection changed in 2023?

It’s certainly been a year of change. I started with the below main pieces…

And now have these…

The Pelagos 39 will likely be moving on and then I don’t then any change for 2024. Famous last words!

Seasons greetings to all, Niki

Thx, it is a great piece. The dial and WG work so well with the Daytona on a leather strap. The strap really takes the edge off, making it feel more natural.

Did you get the Moonshine at retail? I want a PM piece and am considering it but the price has fallen like 20% on the dealer market.

…so how has your collection changed in 2023?

My collection changed from 6 to 3 watches this year but above all my idea and feelings of the Rolex brand together with his arrogant AD culture changed drastically!

It was a fairly heavy year for me—added a BLNR on jubilee, Cartier Santos Medium, NOS 16610LN Sub with lug holes and SEL from 2002, as well as a Bluesy. It sounds like some had some fantastic new additions, but perhaps shockingly, the theme here seems to be downsizing.

2023 was probably my most significant year watch wise. In chronological order:

In - 116509

Out - 126711

In - Cartier Santos Green Dial

Nothing wrong with the CHNR, quite the opposite in fact, but it wasn't getting any wrist time and so off it went. I'm down to two Rolex now and don't see that changing any time soon. Diversity is working for me

I hadn't really thought about it but the last time I bought from a Rolex AD was over 6 years ago. The 3 subsequent purchases were resellers and all the better for it.

The Cartier was my local Cartier AD (owned by WoS Group) who could not have been nicer to deal with

Some watches out, some watches in. The best buy for me this year for wrist time has been a Rolex Submariner-C ND 124060 and a Tudor Pelagos MN with the black dial.

Reduced my collection drastically. Gifted a lot of the to family admirers and traded/sold a few. Purchased a new Explorer 2 and added a Hamilton for back up and another for dress.

But may gift the later in 2024 and replace it with a OP or a DJ.
I plan on holding at two watches by the end of the year. Just not really sure what the second one will be...... yet. But it will likely be a blue stick dial on which ever I choose.

Not one single change. This was my year to get back into golf after a few years away ( just busy, not in prison or anything cool like that). That kept my time and wallet distracted upgrading clubs and range time, but I'm also pretty satisfied with what I have. Sure, give me a $ few hundred grand I'll buy a few nice watches but I have pretty simple taste. If I want.color, I can wear a green shirt.
