if i had to pick one, the vintage would be my choice. 42mm looks out of place on my tiny wrist.

Don't entirely rule it out based on the 42mm, the watch
may feel that large, or smaller/larger when actually on your
wrists. I have a small wrist too.

as long as the case length is 48mm or under it should be o.k. on smaller wrists.

I really, really like the original but.....my eyes are telling me to go with the big boy with the easy to read dial......and in my head, I'm still 21 years old.

My biggest complaint

would be the mercedes hour hand. Just doesn't do it for me.

I'm curious as to whether current 1655 owners would consider
getting one of the new Explorers ... ...

I find the new white dial really attractive, but it would be hard
for me to justify getting one. I guess one 'justification'/reason
would be that the new Orange Hand can be independently set
to a different time zone, but then a GMT would fit in better
with what I already own.

Not that the old orange hand is bad, but I *REALLY* am wanting the new one. The old one looks kinda "busy" on the dial with the indices and markers.
