Did the Grey seller you sold it to kiss the daytona. Send a pic if he/she did after you sold it to them.

Now that was a nice story, a total lie of course. Random guy walks into big AD and they offer a Daytona without even asking for one. Sure, that’s your wishful thinking scenario but never happened

I can’t believe this isn’t OP’s first or second post on the forum! That’s the most surprising thing about this thread! Oh, and the Daytona profits only generated an Omega and a little cash.

I was offered rainbow Daytona at retail and I denied, then they offered panda Daytona and I again denied, it’s their loss.

The sums are pretty easy

Daytona is about £11k
Trade buys them in for about £20k
SM is about £4.5k
£11k back to the credit card
Leave “a little cash”

So if true, instead of being a good person and telling the SA about the mixup thus letting it go to the person who it was meant for or letting it go to someone who wanted it, you decided to buy something you didnt want and sold it immediately to a grey?
Thus depriving the person who it was for(if it was a mixup) the watch they were likely waiting a long time for. Possibly getting the SA in trouble for the mixup.
All for what? a story? to make a few quid?
I agree with the above posters, you are everything wrong with the current Rolex community. And quite frankly, you are a truly awful person.

Well, as I posted months ago, I did point out their error when they tried to sell me a Sub when all I went in to collect was a bracelet for my Sub, but not twice, no..

Took my son and his friend to a nearby shopping centre today. While they were off doing their thing I decided to do a little window shopping. Popped into the Rolex AD there (also sells other brands) and as I walked in I joked “Hi, just thought I would see what Rolex you have available”. The lady laughed and said “We thought you might. Have a seat.”

Well, that was odd, but I thought I would run with it. She disappeared for a couple of minutes and came back beaming, with a brand new black dial SS Daytona. “Is this what you were hoping for?” she smiled.

Well, actually, no it wasn’t. I don’t like Daytonas. But, in this climate... I looked it over, declined to have it sized saying I would do it at home, paid and ran! I ran straight to one of the secondary market dealers in the centre, who seemed quite happy to help me out. Then I ran straight to an Omega AD and had a lovely time trying on a few pieces.

I ended up with a watch I’ve had an eye on for a while, a white faced SM300 on rubber (and a few more £000s in the bank than when I left home).

I think I’m a bit in shock, but I couldn’t turn that opportunity down. Strangely the same Rolex AD nearly sold me a Sub a few months ago when I went in to pick up a new bracelet for my Sub. I actually wanted the bracelet that time (and had already paid for it) so I pointed out their mistake. I couldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth twice!
Yeah like this really happened..............

You should point it out every time. If this story is true, which i very much doubt, it doesn't change the fact that the SA was expecting someone else to come buy the watch. Someone who presumably was waiting for a long time for this watch, someone who was likely on their way to get it, to only get there and be disappointed. I hope the few extra quid was worth it.
What you did is just not the right thing to do, at all.

Photos or none of this happened. No Daytona pic? Not even of the Omega? You’re enjoying winding everyone up

Buys them for 20? In your dreams - They sell for 36k nowadays. I just paid 39k for a Panda (yes I know the black is a bit cheaper) and my grey definitely didn’t make 19k on it. I see what they go for in dealer groups. 20k, you got ripped off with your imaginary watch

Hmm…OP loves to post his hatred for the Daytona in all the anti threads that pops up. Now starts a thread designed to upset Daytona fans. Hmm…

You clearly don’t have a clue about the grey market. According to you your dealer made at least 16k. Don’t forget you sold it to him unworn with a card dated the same day. He can sell that for 38. Most greys don’t make 90pct on a steel Rolex

I clearly don’t

Not something I’ve ever explored before

All these requests for pics only to get ignored. Wonder what judges think when there's no evidence presented. Case closed.
