Lack of popularity of the Yachtmaster

It's funny, I was at my AD yesterday and they had a nice mint pre-owned SS Yachtmaster for close to half of MSRP. It's a terrific looking watch and it does baffle me a little that it isn't more popular. Although, I guess at list price, it is substantially more expensive than a sub or seadweller. Also, it's sporty yet dressy. Is this watch just too dressy for a sport watch or too sporty for a dress watch? Or just too expensive new for what it is. Even the pre-owned prices for a YG Yachty is attractive. It actually looked so good on the wrist that it has me thinking.
