Alan we have the same watch, I got mine in the summer of '98, paid 6k tax included, the watch has been great all these years and needed only one service so far about 6 years back, how as yours held up? Mine has some wear on the bezel from the 65 to the units per hour.

It is as you see it, Jay. That photo was taken last year, I believe. I purchased mine "grey market" back in 2006. It was pristine when I bought it, and has remained so. It had been serviced by the dealer from whom I purchased it. It is the most accurate of all of my Rolex watches. Just a superb timepiece in every way!

I KNOW you enjoy yours. They will last us a lifetime, as will all of our other Rollies!!!

The Air that surrounds it
The history
The ability to keep accurate track times is i ever needed it
The heft of the watch
But mostly for me, the styling of the watch hits it home!
I do love this watch!!!!

The Daytona is definitely a cool watch but to be honest the SS models never really do it for me.

BUT

When I hold a Solid gold model or even one with a leather band... WOW it just screams at me in a way that makes me realize I'll never afford it hahaha

and then there's the Rose Gold Daytona... RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME.. man forget about it haha

Hmmm...you know Atomant- It seems like you were bitten by the Daytona bug in a previous thread: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...na+pics&page=6

Have you since changed your mind about it being "stunning"?
