I did not know about the crystal etching until now, I found mine with a 10x lupe and some good lighting, very cool, thanks!

Easy way to see.....

I found that you can easily see the Rolex etching by using a laser pointer aimed at the edge of the crystal and on the same plane as the crystal (i.e. aim the beam flat across the crystal). Easier too if you do this in a darkened room. The etching should just "pop" out visually at the 6 o'clock position. The etching on both my watches (GMT-IIc, and YG Day-Date) is very easy to see with this method.

Only if it needs, so your crystal was good.

Thanks WW, but it wasn't mine. I found this somewhere, might have been originally posted by Jocke.

My lack of photo skills are well documented here!

They didn't have it on older models. Depending on when yours was made it may not have one.

It should have it then. They are hard to spot sometimes.

My new to me Turn-o-graph arrived today. I too found it hard to find the etched crown. I had to go to a strong loupe. For those looking for it, they are pretty small, probably only the diameter of the tip of a pencil.

I later went for a swim and when you tilt the watch underwater so the face glares out to a mirror like reflection, you can see the crown with the naked (swim mask aided) eye.
