I am glad you are ok...

I do not ride in Florida
I feel Floridians are not aware of riders
So driving defensively or offensively for that matter it does not make a bit of difference
they just do not think that a bike is also made for the road
Once I had the case of a daytona changed due to an accident
and it came back with a serial number starting with 44

My Sub survived a similar crash back in 2002. The bike did not, and I was in worse shape than my watch. The Sub needed a new bezel ring and bezel insert because they were trashed and the bezel would not turn. I refused to allow the AD to polish the road rash off the case and bracelet. I keep them their as a reminder to how tough the watch is, and how lucky I am.

I feel that everybody is not aware of riders and that everyone is out to kill you... people will make eye contact and still almost kill you cutting you off or turning in front of you. Expecting the worst to happen (LIKE A HALF TON PICKUP REARENDING YOU AT 45MPH WHILE YOU'RE AT A STANDSTILL), you go through the mental process to plan your escape in every situation.

Again, glad to see you're ok.

Glad to hear that you are OK. I think I might be more upset if my Ducati ST2 were damaged than my Sub. The Sub is easy to fix, but the Duc isn't, especially where I live.

AGATT - (all gear all the time) could never be a truer statement - glad you are ok. Yes on the gauntlet gloves - head, hands and feet are critical, always the best gear there.

Spot on, I have seen guys get into a wreck with nothing on but shorts, flip flops and a T shirt, talk about road rash and skin Graf's, not to mention asphalt imbedded into the skin, OUCH.

Been there. The 8 inches of scarring on both of my forearms will be there forever as a reminder to always gear up... even if its just to run a few miles. A VERY painfull lesson, but have never rode since without my jacket... Skins comes off really quickly at 45 MPH, and jeans dont help at all. Ride safe all

Thanks. The dents are from getting run over, but they're not evident on the inside of the caseback. The crown had a very sharp edged gouge in it too, which my watchmaker buffed smooth when I had it recently repaired, about 50 years after the crash.

2 years ago my wife and I had ahead on with a drunk. He was doing 45 and we were doing 25. Both of us had on our Rolex's. We were on a R1200GSA which sits really high. Of course we were wearing proper gear. My wifes Day Date was stolen at the hospital and not recovered, therefore we don't know the condition. Mine was stolen too, but I got it back. I woke up in the helicopter and heard someone say my watch was stopped. Therefore I knew it was on my wrist at least until that point.
My wife got launched down the road and I came in direct contact with the hood of the car. The crystal was cracked and the hands were all bent flat against the crystal. My AD sent it back to Rolex and $500 later it looks as good as new and keeps better time than ever. I don't have to adjust it at all.

Always buy & wear the best safety gears when riding 'head to toes'. I'm still supprised seeing some shows from the States riders not wearing helmets and when they cross different states where they have to wear helmets, they'll have a winge. Glad you ok. Nice Monster.Great Sub.

Glad your ok. I ride with my sub on. Reminds me to ride extra careful and not be a knucklehead. One thing I reccomend to avoid cagers is a high beam headlight modulater. It annoys the heck out them and definately gets there attention. Also practice emergency braking atleast once every couple weeks. Ride safe.

DANG! Glad you're okay! I also owned a 16800 at one point(GREAT WATCH), and I have also taken a spill on my R6. I would probably be like you and check my wrist first before checking myself for injury. lol

Will your insurance cover the repair of your Sub???

Glad you're OK. I was riding my motorcycle with the GMTC last weekend, I thought about taking it off but I was already on the bike with the gloves on, next time I leave it at home and wear my Citizen instead.

Thankfully you are OK; I am happy for you.

I had my Rolex 16710 (GMT II) on when an 82 year old pulled out of his driveway right (I mean RIGHT) in front of me. I got the helicopter ride, three surgeries (prolly at least 2 more to come) and a bunch of titanium. The GMT made it OK but the bracelet has some bent pins/bars I suspect.

I was blessed to have survived. I was wearing a full coverage helmet, one-piece Aerostich Roadcrafter, good gloves and good boots. Not one inch of road rash! Still got busted up pretty bad and I'll never be the same - but the GMT goes on. It will be my son's when he graduates college.

The honest police officers here gave my watch to my wife, who came to the scene. The accident ocurred on my street and close to our home.
