I wonder if it's true that he "only" paid $600,000 for it.

Wouldn't be surprised. If you had the capitolnto dump into luxury, grande complications a few years ago you could've done better off than loading up on Apple 25 years ago. The 5002 (Sky Moon Tournillon) could be had for $300k. Easily a $1.2m+ now. Talk about a 500+% return in only 5 years.... The rich get richer and only if I could load up on these. Kinda similar to buying the super rare muscle cars 15-20 years ago. If you unloaded them at the peak of the market returns beat almost every other investment. I dot consider watches or cars investments but when talking the 6-7 figure ones they definitely are. My father and a friend really lucked out on the muscle car boom. In the early 90's my dad got a 1970 Hemi Cuda for the price of a Tahoe nowadays. It's not all matching numbers but the engine and trans did come from another Hemi Cuda and his chassis is actually a Hemi. His partner purchased a 69 427 Vette at the same time after they sold their contracting company. Another example of buying these super rare toys that really go up in value and of they get hot the boom is FAST.

maybe cash deal to avoid the paypal fees?

or just paypal gift?

if it's a $4.2m wire transfer the bank would be straight on the blower and delay the clearing so cash would be to prefer...

Saw it this morning on NBC's Today Show. A beauty....

But Matt Lauer brought something up that may dampen the bidding. Since Eric has had it the PP may have developed a "Slow Hand"...

Who knew Matt was a WIS?

Thank you for sharing Anders!
I live in Antigua and I agree with you. Another reason is a time comes when you decide to lessen the 'burden' by selling your prized possessions. Whatever may be the reason for selling this, I am sure he is going to get a good offer

Maybe I should get addicted to something just so I can go to Antigua for a month.

brkanand, any idea if Crossroads treats people for wristwatch purchasing addictions?

I am told now there is a long waitlist of watch addicts. I will do my best to have you added

Jokes apart, only once I saw this place from far. I don't think 'ordinary' people are allowed to wander anywhere near their place - to protect privacy of inmates.
