I do not like PP watch designs at all so it would be the Daytona for me.

Tough choice since I love the panda dial WG Daytona. In this case, I'd probably lean towards the PP Nautilus.

Patek !
Because its a...Patek
There's just something with that brand that Rolex doesnt have .. Hard te explain.
I myself have the wg daytona and its a very nice watch but i would always choose the 5980 over it.

Cheers

I am a Rolex man through and through but I would have to go with the 5980 in this case. IMHO, it is one of the best looking watches on the market. If I didn't have so many subs on my want list, it would definitely have a place on there.
Either way, they are both awesome watches

I'd choose the Daytona. I had a 5960P and could never warm up to the dial layout. I prefer a traditional two or three subdial chrono dial. That one eyed wonder dial just doesn't cut it for me.

Without a doubt the Patek! It's more exclusive. I got rid of my WG Daytona.

Remember - you never actually own a Patek, you simply take care of it for the next generation :)

In my humble opinion, the 5980 is the sharpest. WG Dayton's are excellent and grains for most, but the 5980 is in a class by itself.

Nautilus line overrated IMO, better than Aquanaut though. I would take many watches over the Daytona, but 5980 not one of them.

As if you need another one sided opinion, PP all day!

You say that it's supposed to be your "grail" watch...if that's the case there is only one answer here!

I've owned both. Rolex for me. I just don't feel comfortable beating up the Patek vs no worries for the Rolex.
