My memory sucks (or the days just blur as I get older) and I actually do check the date throughout the day. I struggled to see the date on my previous watch, an Emergency Mission, due to corrective surgery that helped my overall vision but compromised my near vision. The cyclops makes viewing the date easy, at least for me. First and foremost, function, and it doesn't hurt that the cyclops seems to be an iconic feature of Rolexes, at least in the minds of non-watch people like my wife....this is how she can tell when I've re-acquired back into Rolex.

If there was 31 days in every month, and I didn't have to play setting a date within a certain time of the day, I'd say date. Not the case......no date here....

The Rolex Submariner Date is the only Rolex I've ever owned that I didn't really like. I'm not a fan of the Cyclops on the Sub but for some reason don't mind it so much on the Explorer II.

I have two Sub No Dates, but the poll would only let me vote one time.

I've owned a few Subs throughout the years and have just picked up my first one without the date. I love the clean lines and symmetry of the dial. I also have a Daytona that lacks a date as well and I must admit I'm beginning to miss having it since these are currently the only Rolexes in my collection. I've been contemplating trading my ND Sub for the past couple of weeks.

There is only one true Submariner and it has no date.
I won't be buying either the 114060 or the 116610, but that's because I'm very happy with my 14060M.

It is amazing that for now the Sub is leading; this may be the only time a less expensive Rolex is more popular than a more expensive one.

While I appreciate the ND for it's simple and clean look, I find the date function very useful. Even when I was younger (pre-rolex) years all my watches have had a date function. Once you get used to it I think it's difficult to go ND. Plus, I like the Cyclops!

No date for me. If I decided I have to have a date then I'd go GMT2c.

I went date. I'm always checking it. Had I gone the other way I'd regret it even though I prefer the cleaner nd look. Function rules.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1408570501.091526.jpg

I don't like the cyclops, but if I had to buy a Sub, it would be with the date. If I didn't want a cyclops I'd go for the SD. If I didn't want a date at all, I'd just get a daytona, haha.

Tough one. I voted date as it's supposed to be the only watch and I'm looking at the date multiple times a day. On the design side, I do prefer the cleanness of the ND, which makes it a bit more hardcore, nonchalance, who gives a ...
Summing this up, I personally go with the dark horse: SDc. Good one... |

I voted with my dollars and picked up my SubC date yesterday. I owned the ND before and truly loved it, so I get it. But, I really need a date function. You can't go wrong either way
