My wife bought me an Omega SMP for my B-day in 04 and I almost fainted
If she had bought me a Rolex it would be to much strain and I would have cardiac arrest
You are very lucky

Of course you should get it if it is on a list price

Some people would kill just to get a daytona on a list price

It's a no brainer

Not the new model yet, although the display model did not have the ROLEX and serial number on the inside of the bezel, under the crystal the one that I got out of the box did have these upgrades.

Loving them right now. Had to show my parents yesterday(not to mention I wanted to get them out and see them again), they loved them although I don't think they understand the passion as much as I do. Certain generations do not understand spending that kind of money on a timepiece.

Maybe in quite some time I will need to get two more, a SS daytona with a black dial preferably and one for everyday use like a GMT II or Explorer.

Wear them. They are great watches and will look great with anything. Alternate one each day and enjoy them both.
