I think the maxi dial and case are here to stay as they have gathered wide spread acceptance. It’s only aficionados that worry about the maxi case and we are not Rolex’s primary market. The average Rolex buyer doesn’t give a toss one way or the other. A movement “upgrade” is possible but I suspect it will only be a few tweaks and nothing spectacular.

While I have no information, the movement upgrade is the most likely when Rolex does an upgrade.
