How about a Kobold Phantom?

This is a great watch, from a great small batch American watch company.
Comes in under price limit.

The Omega Speedmaster "Moon Watch". Great movement, great history.

For US$5k, I'd recommend the Omega Speedmaster Professional, Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Chrono (in orange or black) or Breguet Type XX.

If you still want a Rollie, how about an Explorer II ?
OK, so it's not a chrono, but consider...
- fixed SS bezel with black engraving
- choice of black or white dials
- added function of a date
- "classic" proportions

Cheers

I second the Zenith, it has a similar sub dial layout, lovely finish and really is a great watch, i had the 400 chronomaster with the guilloche dial which looked very nice on the wrist and with the crystal back you get to see the El Primero in all its glory. There is also the 410 movement models, which are the moonphase watches, both models seem to come up now and again on the market, but are getting harder to find.

I want to check out the one in my post above. The black dial model is very sporty looking.

Bump.

I had a Tudor chrono before. Decent watch, but very thick. I think it's called the big block Tudor. It houses the Valjoux 7750 movement, which is fairly large movement, thus the thick case. I heard something about non big block Tudor. Any scans and more info on this model? Thanks.

Zenith El Primero

Vintage, I really like Universal Geneve Tri-Compax.

Cannot go wrong with a Spedmaster either

Nice collection of Daytonas!!!

And yes, I was thinking of selling my SS Daytona white dial, then buying a cheaper alternative and banking the extra cash. I would probably regret selling it.

I am reconsidering. This is my 4th SS Daytona and I am sure that I would regret selling this one, especially that my name is on the papers. I am not strapped for cash in any way, but just thinking about the alternative.
