With respect to the controversy surrounding the "true" 50th Anniversary LV, a recent survey here at TRF revealed that the only Y serial LVs out there appear to have been purchased in the Asian market. I have an F serial LV which I purchased on 23 December 2003. I also have the 2003 brochure, CD, and letter to my AD that touts the LV's release in 2003 as a commemoration of the sub's 50th year of production.
I suspect that the difference between Y and F serial numbers reflects the market the watches were sold to, and not which is the rarer series. Does anyone out there have a Y serial number LV purchased in Europe or North America? Cheers, Chris
