I did unload my 216570 and have yet to fall in love with a Daytona, so I’d actually say go for it if that’s what you want to do

This is the end game to aim for, 5164 and D500, are two of my top four SS watches along with the LVc and 5712.

Then no way! I'd just add the D500, or trade the subc for it.

Can you get a bid price above retail for the 5164 in the US now? You can get maybe £2/3K in UK so that is not compelling at all.

Finally some Patek love. Since the context is clearer I'd like to ask the OP what his interest is in two (relatively) doggy Rolexes? He has a Nautilus a Sub and a Royal Oak for pete's sake.

With the Rolex choices you have, I would go for Patek

Absolutely not. 5164 is one of my favorite watches. If I would have only 1 watch that would likely be the one.

Add the Daytona - and forget the other two.

If it was a Daytona, SD43 or skyD and maybe then Datejust I’d probably go for it. But the Explorer ii and datejust don’t cut it as a second and third piece

I would take 3 rolexes over 1 Patek any day, hell I would take 1 Rolex over 1 Patek as I’m not a Patek fan.Would only take a Patek to sell it then buy a Rolex.

Considering you have other watches besides the 5164 I see no reason to make that trade. If anything, try and snag a daytona and forget the other two.

Well that changes everything! You already have 3 of the greatest luxury sport watches of all time, no need for the Aquanaut. Make the trade for the 3 Rolex.

Given your overall collection, I would not make that trade. I would put the PP on the steel bracelet and consider flipping something else for the SkyD.

Nope. Not for that Patek.

If its was a Nautilus 5990 or 5980, 5712 that might be a different story.

You need to have 1 Rolex in your collection as a beater, even though the Aquanaut is sporty

Not a fan of the Aquanaut, so no. Even if it was just the Daytona for the Aquanaut I wouldn't do it.
