Although my favorite is the blue. The basic color wheel dials....white, blue, silver, grey, etc.....will not go out of style |

DJ41 owners : still feeling the love for your chosen dial?
Ive only had it a month or two, but I don’t regret blue one bit

I got the 36mm blue datejust, only had it two months, but still love the blue. I think it is a classic.

I went with the black stick dial as it seemed to me to be the most classic and versatile of all the options. That and I can read the time better due to a bit more contrast between the sticks and the face.

OP - I too thought long and hard about dial before I made my purchase of the DJ36 fluted jubilee.
I initially wanted either the black or the blue but in the end, I got the silver. The black (or rhodium in your case) and blue are beautiful dials but my view is, a lot of watches also look great with dark coloured dials but only a handful (if that many) look great with a silver dial. The silver dial looks really classic and I think it'll looks even better with time. No wrong choice here, but if the silver sings to you, get it! Sent from my VKY-L29 using Tapatalk |

My next Rolex will be a DJ 41 with blue, fluted and jubilee.
Black is great, but it's just too ubiquitous with all the rolex sports models... Nice to have difference. |

Valid concern, OP. Obviously the neutral colors (silver/white/black) will stand the test of time, but I suggest going with the color you like the best now.
In a few years, you will need to do a service anyway, right? Then you will have a chance to change the dial if you so desire to another color of your choice. Extra cost of course, but that will be the cost of enjoying your current favorite color for a few years. Well worth it if you ask me.

That’s in line with my thinking. I have a good number of black dial watches already (though the black dial does look great on the DJ)

I have the 41 with a smooth bezel, jubilee bracelet, and a rhodium dial...super versatile to me. Always thought it strikes a nice balance with black, white, and silver dialed DJ’s. The blue is a fantastic looking dial, but fear it’s lack of versatility for my lifestyle. Different than the OP, I always knew what color I wanted, and still love it.

Great question. I was thinking about this the other day while looking at my dark rhodium dial...that I still love it and think its stunning. I was originally on the fence between the blue and DR but went with the DR as I already had a blue faced watch but no grey. So you can't go wrong with either.

Absolutely! I've owned a few DJ's over the last 30 years, but this is my favorite.

How much does it cost for RSC to switch dials on a DJ41? Could an independent with a Rolex parts account do it? For much less?

A couple years ago a pretty big poll on dial color was run and silver was the winner closely followed by white and black. Blue is a nice color but better in a collection and not as a one and only

I am hoping that I do not run out of “love“ for this DJ dial.

I can't warm up to the huge white hour markers I seen, even the romans look to big. I like to more of the dial than hour markers, I like the smaller diamond markers on the one posted.

Dark Rhodium and yes. I can see the draw to the silver. Either dial I think, dresses the watch up. Where the blue, “sports” it up.

I have a blue dial, and a white dial and a TT with Ivory dial. All fluted.
The blue dial gets the most wear. It’s just beautiful. The white dial comes out in summertime. The Ivory dial compliments the TT gold beautifully. It’s has such a soft warmth to it. I use this as a dress watch only. Being fortunate enough to have a selection of three, I never tire of any of them, but if I were to chose one as a daily one and only, it would be the blue fluted. |

You are richt, the DJ41 has a slightly different dial. For instance indexes are a ltouch smaler. But the blue dial is still available.

My DJ originally came with a white dial. At year 18 I decided that what I really wanted was a black dial. When it went in for service, I had the RSC change it. Very easy.
Net, you can change the dial and still keep the watch. Since I am keeping the watch - it doesn’t matter that is not original.
