Yep. I did. Bought a Stainless Steel Datejust 116200 with Rhodium Roman dial(my favorite look on stainless) back in 2008. Sold it in 2011. Missed it ever since and eventually purchased another last year...

Good for you. I think buying a watch back even though financially may not be the best decision, it shows you how much you appreciate the watch.

I’ve had a few buddies do this. The second time usually means they’ll be wearing it in their casket.

Oh man, i was just about to pull the trigger on trading my steel aquanaut for the RG aquanaut. seeing this thread is making me think twice. i love the steel, but afraid of the pain if wanted to re-acquire given the smoking market on all steel watches!

Keep!! If anything get the RG but keep the steel. The balance is incredible.

I regretted selling my super Luminova 16600, so this tritium beauty is arriving tomorrow, courtesy of LunarOyster. Technically different, but same reference.

I sold my 16600 Sea-Dweller for a reason I can't even recall. Immediately regretted it, and purchased another 16600 which I'll never flip.

I sold a Tudor Tiger with a white and black panda dial, and I'm pretty sure I'll buy another soon.

Hard to believe for those who weren’t around back then but circa 2000 the new 16622 Yachtmaster was a “hot” model and I got one. Just a few months later I was offered a white 16520 Daytona and needed funds for it so the Yachtmaster was sold. A year later I had another one.
I also had both black and white 116520 Daytonas later so three in all but not exactly the same.

Lol, many times. Record is 5x 16613/116613 LB’s. That is over 30 years though. No more Rolex flipping as it’s too hard to get them anymore.

I use to have a Brietling Aerospace Evo 43mm... I sold it for slightly more than I paid... Keep thinking about buying it back.
Super accurate quartz ... lost like 5 seconds a year. Great watch in a collection as you can always set the time / date from it and it be accurate. Plus its a watch you could just pick up and go with, no messing about. It was fantastic and I have no idea why I sold it!
Every now and then I'd like to wear it... super understated. Whilst still having its own charms and beauty. Plus the movement was great... the minute hand moved every 30 seconds. Ughr... why did I read this thread? I'm totally going to buy this back!

I agree! My flipping started from 18 to now 24 years old. For now I will only add. I can’t promise the gold sub will stay forever but I have no intentions on selling anytime soon.

As of today the 114060. (A strong keeper), an SD43 that will be moving on, and the PAM 11- that is also looking for a new home. Incoming will likely be a DJ41, but struggling with dial choice so I can easily see more than one in my future.

I have bought several models many times over. What can I say, I like variety and get bored fast.

Congrats on adding the no date sub back to your collection. Love the YG Submariner too. Miss mine.

Yup. Nothing says commitment quite like repurchasing something you already owned. It’s like remarrying your ex-wife. It says “this time it’s true love.”
