Rolex price increase in Canada

Checked the Rolex web site today, and the DJ41 SS 126300 smooth bezel Oyster bracelet I bought in late Nov 2019 has gone from $8450 when I bought it to $9050 today. $600 hike, about 7%.

I tucked in right under the deadline...

SS Daytona and Root beer both increased on the Canadian website.

The DJ 36 Oystersteel Everose is 14970$, including tax in Ontario, 15250$ in Quebec. I won't say what I got mine for a few years ago but so much for TT Rolex being a value loser

There was a two tone bluesy and two tone skydweller (champagne dial) at my AD on December 31st, they sure seem to receive a lot of them. No stainless steel professionnal model as usual and I have yet to see a yellow gold sports watch. I think they still have the yachtmaster 42 on display too, doesn't seem very popular for a 2019 release.

I called the manager AD I deal with and basically what he said was that they don't do business like that if I ordered a watch prior to the price increase I will get it for the old price I mean there are reputable dealer in the GTA that have been around since the 50s.

I think this was a very intelligent move on the part of Rolex by limiting the inventory they had prior to Christmas selling everything off now raising the price and increasing the stock levels in the stores I have a feeling that this will actually cause some kind of discount on even the sports models in the future.

I mean we can complain if we want but we've only done this to ourselves and we have been paying the full pop prices so what can we really say it's an animal we've created ourselves

Nonetheless I am very excited to post pictures tomorrow night when I get my watch I've been looking forward to this watch since my dad passed away and I can finally now get it on his birthday which will be January 8th this one's for you Papa

Anyone have experience of purchasing a Rolex in Canada and what the stipulations are? I understand the exchange is in effect, but are their additional fees? Thanks so much for the help!

I bought one in Canada in the past several months. The exchange rate, even at the time, was advantageous. Now it would be highly advantageous. The tax rate was 12% in the province I was in, however. No other fees.

If you buy it in Ontario you will have to pay the taxes. So don’t forget to factor that in.

what this guy said. it's already bad enough to deal with the chinese tourists cleaning stocks of undesirables to scoop up the hot pieces, coupled with the smaller market size that leads to less allocations overall.

and you would have to pay duties (6.5%?) as well when you cross back to the US. and with the sales tax in provinces like ontario (13%) and quebec (15%), I'm not really sure it's worth all that hassle.
