and $13,475 without stickers who would have ever guessed that stickers were worth over $5000.

So if he's selling a Batman BLNR for $13,475 then the normal guy should feel pretty lucky to get $13,000 ....

At the end of the day, I have no doubt that someone will purchase it even at 2x over the MSRP. How long he sit’s on it is another question though.

I’m happy because I have one in the safe with the stickers still on it (total cost=$8424). Maybe soon I can trade it straight up for a white dial Daytona. Lol. It is interesting even though it’s insane.

Great deals can be made for this reference, especially if you are in the USA. I have recently started checking the sale section of the forum and saw some brand new examples for the asking price of about $13.5K, and that's before any price negotiations. Paying in cash and in person can bring it even more down I guess.

This.
I’ve seen one sell for $12.7k last week. Like new but no stickers.

I would change my mind if this one from David sells. But I doubt a buyer will pay it.

I wouldn’t heed the results too much. Apparently vintage GMT 16750s have a Market Range of $750 - $1,470

Hi, I'm the creator of the website. Yes it's intended to be a market price tracker. For the watch in question, there are more recent listings for dial and bezel parts than the actual watch itself. This is what is skewing the market price calculation. Unfortunately it's difficult to make the distinction in an automated fashion. But I will look into improving this.

My suggestion is don't blindly trust the market price and market range calculations, but use them a guideline and look at individual data points. I think there's still a lot of value as an aggregated source of reference.

Hope this helps.

The website isn’t perfect and it looks your example has some watch parts being scraped skewing results. The data for the BLNR is mostly accurate though. I think there is one or two data points that are off IIRC.

I use your site often. Agreed individual data points add value. Kudos!

This always makes me laugh. How can you judge someone who is ready to pay more money for a watch with stickers, while you are buying watches for thousands and thousands of dollars?

Why is he a sucker but not you?

Because I dont buy watches for investments and the person who buys this and pays this will most likely buy it, put it into a closet and pray to god it gives him a minimum 10% capital growth each year which it wont. LOL

The sale itself is trying to portray an "investment". Your a sucker if you get pulled into that one. Learn to invest properly not into watches. $18k REAL investment can do wonders if used properly.

Interesting how so many ‘agree’ that 19k (or 18k — whichever) is a ‘fair’ price for a discontinued, yet kind of not discontinued - stainless steel Rolex.

Wonder what the consensus would be when the next thread pops up that is titled - I just paid 19k for a BLNR....

Glad I got a discount on mine. Same with the hulk. The Daytona might be the only reference worthy of the ridiculous premium - but again. Isn’t worth it. The Daytona (ceramic) is the only watch I’ve ever paid retail $ for.

Just my .02

Call it a good deal or whatever you like but there’s no way I’m ever paying over MSRP unless it includes sales tax lol

I got to the classifieds and search a particular model, look at pages 1-3 then pages 13-15 and just cringe. Wow what a difference 2 years makes
