I don’t think we’re ever going to see a ceramic bezel Explorer II. It’s clear to me that Rolex is using ceramic as a replacement for Aluminum where it was previously used on models. So far, everything that has ceramic with exception of the PM YMs - which I’d argue were newly created models - has had at one point used Aluminum on the bezels. Maybe this is just me, but that’s the correlation I see.

I think if we do get a new movement or redesigned lugs on the Sub it’s going PM first. Then steel later. I wouldn’t put it past Rolex to make a PM Submariner with these improvements everyone is clamoring for.

They’re not just going to give the people what they want before giving them something they don’t.

I'm always looking forward to Rolex novelties at Basel, even if ADs won't sell me what I'd like. That's fine, I'm good with what I've got.

Personally I'd like to see more OF or strap models in PM.

No educated guess in what may come out. I know that many are hoping for an updated Sub. Another TRF member had pointed out that the Sub will be celebrating it’s 70 anniversary in 2023 so perhaps that’s when the update may happen.

Pardon my ignorance, but couldn’t you take the metal bracelet off and add a rubber or strap to any PM? Having a few watches with rubber and leather straps (Sinn and dress watches), I have found that over years they show signs of aging and need replacement as they look more and more worn.

I’d rather have a DD come with the President bracelet and have the option to swap in straps of my choice material.

New movement on Sub. Hulk will not be discontinued, why would Rolex do that for a popular model. Either the Air King, or Milgauss will be discontinued. Or both. After a couple of years or even more a new Air King with a new design will be launched. Something really spectacular will be done either on a current model, or rolling up a new model.

Hulk is only popular now, good chance it will go if we see the new movement, Rolex plan years in advance and I would say they planned to cut the Hulk many years ago.

My prediction for Basel - A lot of new watches released that none of us will be able to get at retail.

Yes, but the Daytona also had models with Aluminum bezels. They produced them in both styles.

The Explorer II has always had a Steel bezel.

Does a new Submariner, increase the value of the current 116610 and 116610LN?

If they keep the Hulk, I hope they offer a Sub ND version.

No. There are 10 million of them out there. Prices will fall as there is nothing unique or special about the watch or older movement it is being replaced by. The new Sub will instantly go into the unobtanium category like every other hot new Baselworld release SS model.

I know its all speculation and no one truly has a clue except top Rolex employees but its fun to see where everyone sees the brand going.

Discontinued or updated Hulk?

Improvements to the Explorer II?

Discontinue any other models?

Will they introduce anymore models in two-tone or a precious metal that hasn't been done before?

What improvement or discontinuation would you most like to see?
1. I think we'll see 2 more years of the LVc and LNc, so that Rolex can continue to slow trickle into the market and drive the price closer towards GMT Masters in secondary markets

2. Explorer 2 I think will be updated next year for its anniversary

3. For the Rest:

-I think we'll see a lot more DJ dials lol

-I think Rolex will add another complicated Cellini reference (I've been hoping it would be a split seconds chronograph for years, but doesn't seem to be so)

-We'll see the remaining 3186 based GMT Masters discontinued

-Rolex will introduce bracelet versions of the Daytona with Ceramic in PM (in addition to the Platona of course and darn we will have to wait a while longer for better TT dials and a Ceramic Bezel)

-I think the YM2 will be discontinued (so that it can be reintroduced in a few years at a more modest 42mm size)

-A whole bunch of blinged out models that no one really wants or can afford but are cool to look at as novelties

-My long-shot prediction is a return of the DJ Turn-O-Graph because of the strong demand for sports focused Rolex references in SS

Regardless of what comes this is a great time of year for watch enthusiasts

Whenever they do update the movement, I do think the LVc will be replaced with a SS Smurf, 126610LB

And if we think SS BLRO and Daytona demand is high, just wait for a SS Smurf imo

I'd love to see the BB58 in other color variations.

As for Rolex, I don't know if I really care anymore.

That would be very high up on my list of wants (needs), just when you think you are done Rolex brings out something very special.

It would certainly be high on my wish list too and I bet many others as well! I'm sure Rolex will want to bring more attention back to the Submariner line at some point.

Possibly a replacement for the dropped GMT LN.

I can see Rolex doing a green & black bezel w/green gmt hand. 126710VRNR

Agreed, I would most certainly love to own a SS smurf as the PM model is not realistic for me yet
