This whole thread is telling you otherwise, but ok...you're just that "always right" type of guy.

I disagree. Today's fashion and art say otherwise. It's like saying all day every day, 95% of people would prefer those frilly, ornate garments of the 1500's over a charcoal, full canvas suit. It's called the art of the understatement my friend

Not the same, I'm talking about contemporary articles and that include ROLEX watches. I see you think differently and unable to listen what others are telling you. Have a great day.

I'd take a platinum sub in a heartbeat if the platinum upgrade was closer to market price of Pt (SS sub+8-10K worth of Pt). It's a tough metal and has superior corrosion resistance to 904L. I think about a gold 5 digit; they aren't that bad price wise. Just don't like the gold color on something as prominent as a watch. I might get over that or my tastes might change. The problem is that the alloys in 18K somewhat defeat the superior corrosion resistance of gold. Pt is really good stuff.
For now i like SS/904L for it's toughness and neutral color. I prefer the neutral color actually. |

Welcome to the Stainless Steel Rolex Forum!! After being a big fan of anything SS for the past decade or so, I am moving on to PM. Done with SS and looing for something more classic in PM.

For me, I wear gold for Bigger events and ss for daily. Ss feels like a beater to me while yg feels way more prestige but fragile. For events alot of Rolex than I wear AP.
I have seen people with $3M car wearing a ss Daytona but he also have alot of high end watches. Ss is just less to worry about. I would take ss to jet ski but I wouldn't take gold |

I’d happily trade anyone my 116610 for an 116618/19.
Let’s see how many takers there are. |

Look i've said it once and I'll say it again. EVERYONE starts off with SS why? Purely because of price point. Thats just being straight up and 100% honest without hurting peoples feelings. Once you have enough $$$ its always PM. If you tell yourself otherwise your lying to yourself. I used to be this EXACT same way when I was younger and much much poorer. I'd always justify to myself that I wanted SS but in reality it was just that I could not afford it gold - whether it be YG/RG/WG or Plat it doesnt matter. Simple and down to the point and no bullshitting around - thats the facts |

Only a troll asks a question and then posts argumentative answers to his own thread. I don’t see the OP’s posts but unfortunately his reposts appear.
