How many Sub owners have never gone diving?

I have worn my 16800 sub on over 200 + ocean dives. Prior to that my dad dove with it though out the 80's in southeast asia. I will say the watch is on its second bracelet. Sorry I misread the Thread Title, if you have not went diving with your Sub id highly recommend it !

I've ran into quite a few divers who also like watches. How many people have dove with their Sub? Maybe 1%? How many Sub owners dive? I'd just throw out a guess of 5% but who knows.

And yet they are the first ones to complain when water resistance levels are 100m instead of 300.

You can dive with a Date-just and do just fine but I suppose that doesn't have the timing bezel to use as a back up for the Dive Computer

Remember, these watches are more about selling the idea of adventure to a consumer rather than actually experiencing the adventure themselves. You don't know how many people still believe the Explorer went up Everest, when it was an OP but either way that guy'll definitely be prepared for his climb up Everest. lol...

A number of the divers I know to also be watch guys use Shearwater Terics https://www.shearwater.com/products/teric/

If I had more opportunities to dive, I would probably join them. I wear an SKX while diving (in addition to dive comp), not sure I would wear a Sub while diving if I had one, the Seiko works fine and is cheap to replace.

Ive gone diving....and there really is no need to wear a watch down there. Dive computers replaced watches many years ago.

Only a handful of current diving age sub owners have ever taken their subs diving and they're really easy to identify because they constantly bring up the fact that they take their subs diving. They're like the vegans of the watch world.

i did not do scuba diving but in the summer i always swim with it every day.

I sometimes dive 10 meters or 15 than return back no where near 300 meters :)

In the special forces used to dive much deeper with casios no dive computer.

Probably more accurate to say I bring it with me diving... I don't use it for anything and it generally stays under the sleeve of my wetsuit. Figure it's safer there then on the boat or back in the condo.

Funny -

I dive fairly regularly and go out of my way to wear my sea dweller - just because. But my Citizen Aqualand Duplex is my GoTo. Rugged, simple, and reliable. With a bright flouro orange strap, it also looks cool as hell.


On a side note, I go out of my way to glance at people's watches on all my dive boats (in between my frequent bouts of seasickness ) --- and I think in 30 years and hundreds of dives I've counted a sum total of two Rolexes.
