This not an "out of touch" view, it's just a different one than yours. |

I will be honest, those who baby these watches, regardless of how much they are will never enjoy it as much as us who wear them daily. You should know what you're getting into if you're dropping 10k on a watch. It is a mere privilege. Those who save up for it as an "aspirational" (not a word btw) item ought to wear it since they earned it so. If one is scared to wear it because of the cost, then they should wear something more manageable to their peace of mind because living in insecurity like that is too cumbersome for one's spirit.
You don't need a lifestyle of $18 coffees or million dollar sports cars to wear and enjoy a Rolex These are material things and life is short. Don't be careless but at the same time don't let your things own you. |

You must be confused here. I’m the OP who asked to see high mileage Pepsi’s. I have no idea what your point is. My point with Peter is that this isn’t just a “watch” for people. You’ve been here a relatively short time. Look around these parts, there are threads upon threads about watch cases, “omg I have a scratch,” cape cod clothes, etc I could keep going. A 10k item beat up is a juxtaposition that I find interesting and cool. Yes watches are meant to be worn and Ferrari’s are meant to be driven but I don’t see a gaggle of drivers taking their Ferrari’s on dirt roads and beating the hell out of them. If you do cheers! You’re a bad ass. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I pretty much wear it everywhere and do everything with it. If you look really close you can see that the glow-in-the-dark Lume insert is already cracked on the bezel. I think it’s weird to buy some thing like this and not wear it all the time. Edit: welp, this site mangled my hi res iPotato pics. FML. |

I love this. It’s just too cool to have something this valuable but use it with abandonment and appreciate it for what it is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Not everyone wears their Rolex everyday. But that's a nice shot though.

I confess I actually baby my watches , When I visit my 79 yr old father and look at his SD4K I could cry 😢 he takes the view it’s a watch ! To be worn and I will inherit it some time and I can have it serviced and as Peter said it will be like new and ready to take the scratches time and time again.

To some a Rolex is a watch and to some it’s much more. Some baby them, some beat them up. There is no right or wrong way to treat YOUR watch. The problem is some members here judge other members by how they treat their watch, or what they call it, or if they are concerned with its value. They view themselves as real Rolex aficionados and look down on you if you are concerned with a scratch on it or if you don’t refer to it by the model number. It’s rude, condescending and elitist. It’s really a turn off on a open Internet forum. I would think after decades of being into watches you wouldn’t have anything left to prove about how “real” your passion for Rolex is.

Why does "worn daily" have to equal abuse? Weird....
