Sounds like you'll have a Daytona on your wrist sooner than you thought! Nice gesture OP, good goes around

I’ve repeated several times. I’m going to do what I’m going to do, regardless. If he called me right now and told me there’s no chance of me getting that watch...his dog is still on the surgery schedule for tomorrow morning.

Yes I read what you repeated several times. And of course you're not going to go back on your word, that would be silly.

Now is the time to exert maximum leverage here.

The way I would play this - If he wants a big discount - he should give you a Daytona of your choice immediately. If he wants free service, he should give you a Daytona + a Blue Sky-Dweller before the operation. Otherwise charge him regular rates when surgery is done tomorrow.

I am sick and tired of "begging" (in various forms) to these AD's. Now it's his time to "beg", make him "pay" for it.

If you own more than one veterinary hospital, just go grey man!

You deserve it.

I bet it was hard work to get to where you are.

At this point you more than deserve it.

Total SHENANIGANS! ! ! !,...that’s why AD’s will NEVER GET my money again. They’re into BUNDLING watches now as well. Buy exactly what you want without playing games and waiting! GO GREY!!!,...someone from Rolex should read all these posts from the last few years and start shutting these AD’s down or bringing in their own staff! This makes the staff look bad along with them not even knowing what they are selling! Kind of “comical”!!!

No never. You could say that’s the tail wagging the dog..

I'll say it again YOU are doing whats right, whats most important. The watch is secondary but you will get the watch .

Um, ok... Coming in a little hot, eh? ADs never getting your money again, got it.

Good on you OP, doing what is in your power to take care of someone. I hope it works out for you, the AD manager and the pet.

No matter how it works out, you're in the right place.

During all the COVID lockdown my AD had a bunch of questions about safety (I’m an ER doc). Right after everything opened up a hulk came in.

That being said I would have given the same advice to anyone - it’s a nice family business so I don’t think they were sitting on it. I just got lucky and they had me in mind. They also donated to the hospital and did a lot for our workers.

I think the ADs have a tough job and are dealing the best with the hands Rolex deals them - and behind AD each are just normal, good, hard working people.

Enjoying the doggy wait list jokes; but as Gandhi would say, "Be the Change".

Assuming he's treated you fairly in the past; the baller move would be to waive your professional fees ("Professional courtesy").

I'm not surprised by those who think this is inappropriate, but I disagree. I think most of us prefer to do business with people we trust and respect. There's no scandal here.

There is the assumption that this might be a quid pro quo understanding - it'll be interesting to see if this is the case.

You’ll get the watch, a friend of mine hooked up an AD with some stuff before and now he’s got a batman and a Daytona all within a few months! It is what it is but in the end it works out for everyone involved!

Anyone who doesn't believe that "who you know" matters hasn't been doing this for long. I am not a whale but have gotten everything I've asked for because my longtime SA gets them for me. It's never purely just how much you spend.
You'll have your new watch soon for being a good guy.
