Love the black ceramic insert ,but on the colours I prefer the aluminum inserts .

Colours are spot on.Inexpensive to replace.No fuss, no mess.

On the aluminum inserts there were never discussions of is it blue or purple,red or pink .. or Mark I ,II , II etc

Yeah because these types of posts are a daily occurrence.. The odds of that happening to your watch are minuscule.

That's perfect. Looks like the ceramic insert and sapphire crystal absorbed the brunt of the impact.

A aluminum bezel insert would be scratched and dented so it would have to be replaced as well. the only advantage to the aluminum bezel is now gone now that Rolex has controlled all replacement parts.

Not very durable compared to the old anodized metal ones.

Lol, what is minuscule is the number of ceramic Rolex owners that are on this forum compared to those than own them and not active in a forum like this. So the vast majority of breaks you will never see. It’s bound to happen when dinner plate material is used in the outside of a watch.

To the people crapping on 6 digit watches, I know esthetics are debatable, but I see 1000 bezels on this forum that look like this on the right5E577FE7-9984-4044-8F28-3FF6CC9C03AE.jpeg;

To every one bezel that looks like this;

B906396D-CB4A-4A6E-B02F-574DD47108D7.jpeg

I think a red bezel turning pink in 15 years is unacceptable, I know some people like this patina, but I’d much rather take the low risk that I break a ceramic bezel, than the guarantee that my watch will look bad and need a new bezel within a decade or so.

Since the OP is an RSC watchmaker, set up to repair this watch, I’d hazard a guess that the owner of this watch is not a member of this forum therefore we are seeing a broken bezel that fall into the vast majority that you were talking about, not the small minority (which in all likelihood is a statistically significant sample size) on this forum.

If you buy the current reference you get pink from the start (and purple )

I have bought the current reference, probably the so called Mark II bezel and in almost any lighting I see blue and red, in fact the red I see is so nice I would buy another one if red was the only colour on the bezel. The blue is kind of non-descript, but it is blue.

I also own the 16710 from which the faded bezel shown in my photograph was removed and replaced with the new Pepsi bezel shown and a Coke bezel which is currently installed on the watch.

I stand by all my comments as a matter of personal experience, not baseless assumptions. I have never seen a mark I 126710 Pepsi bezel, so I can’t comment on that watch.

I didn’t break ceramic insert, but sent off my blnr to Dallas service center in February and still waiting on it to return. The bezel was back ordered for 8 weeks. They said both needed replacement.
