That’s pretty rare, I’ve never even seen one at an AD let alone sitting for that long!!

Just wow. This is why DJ36 is and will always be an icon, perhaps more so than the Submariner, Speedmaster, Daytona, Tank.............

When i went back to my AD as I wanted to thank the 2 SAs who helped me (they were off the day when I picked it up), they said that just a few weeks ago, 3 people are on wait list for 126234

I picked up my 126234 silver dial two weeks ago new from a TS. Thinking about swapping to the blue dial. I called RSC Dallas and they said $420 if I trade in the silver dial, $600 to keep it.

There is no shortage of any DJs at the moment. Big ADs have plenty of them, sales are down. Plenty of ss hot models in the back, also, for the “Lucky” customers.
Just go to big ADs in big cities.....
DJ are number one sellers, always in demand and thats why Rolex makes sooooooo many variations of it! Different sizes, dials, bracelets, material......

Here you go, photo at one big AD the other day. They had any model of DJ36, DJ41 and OP you can think of....thats just one display out of 8.

Plenty of those, too. I just took a photo of one of the displays only.
It may hard to get in your area but not the case worldwide. Also, “hard to get”
is often something created by your dealer.

Once, again, don't believe what the dealers tell you. Watches are available, especially now since Covid. Ppl are not queuing up for 10k watches.

I think it depends on where you live. I know the local dealers very well, all owners and have literally seen the list in his office. The 41 blue fluted and jubilee has a list of people waiting. If I was you I would go and buy one for the value alone!

The DJ36 is arguably the best looking Rolex ever made. While the DJ41 may look better on bigger wrists it does not look better next to the DJ36.

For me - just looking at this picture, the 41 is way better looking. Matter of opinion!

Haven’t seen a case like that even before COVID and I’ve been to ADs in New York, London, and Paris in the last 12 months. What city is that because clearly I need to visit there instead 😁

Before Covid there was the big hype.
The greatest “shortage” of all times....Rolex applied the Daytona strategy to all ss sport models, people go crazy and start buying ss DJs as these become the closest available thing to the sport models. Dealers soon pick up on that and start playing around with “waitlist” for blue dials DJs, OP with coloured dials etc.

Now, after a few months of almost no business and paycuts all around, the big dealers started to accumulate stock and to fill up the displays. While some brought the watches out, some still play the game hoping for a quick recovery of the market and start the old “bundle” trick.......which, believe me, its not gonna happen soon.

I pretty much haven't worn anything since getting it.

I love your blue one.

More stunning than some of the hard to get watches in my opinion.

It’s hard to do that blue justice with a camera. Seeing in person made a big difference for me.

The DJ36 is not rare and not hard to find at ADs, with the exception of the blue dial with fluted bezel and Jubilee. Took me a long time to find one last year.

The good news is they can be purchased for close to retail from trusted sellers on the secondary market.

The title of this thread made me chuckle. The DJ36 "the next" in-demand model? I think it's been one of Rolex's best sellers since, oh, the 1940s. (Debuted in 1945.)

Picked up the new black dial, fluted with Jubilee, early this year. Great watch. I would add a silver dial smooth bezel oyster if I see one.

My local ad, the only one I’ve visited since Covid blew up, has a tonne of DJs in the display. No OPs at all though, and it has been like this for months. Maybe different countries have different demand profiles, outside of the high demand sports pieces of course.

I’d put my money on somewhere in the Middle East. It surely isn’t a US display case!

They are readily available here. DJ41 with blue stick dial and jubilee you might need to order if they are out. I bought one earlier this year for a relative. It took a few weeks to get it since they were out when I visited and only had the roman blue dial with jubilee.
