Nice pickup. I tried one of those on recently, and for some reason it’s been on my mind since. They are such a unique watch. They are huge compared to many watches but really do not wear bad at all, and actually look really good and not awkward on the wrist. It’s such a unique cool piece for what it is. I really think I may look at picking one of these up for good eventually.

Very nice, I agree the 116660 is an incredible value. I’ve had my JCDSSD for a little less than a year, and I think it is perfect. Nice to the original DeepSea staying and is your workhorse.

Amazing couple! I never understand why DSSD prices are less than 300m subs..I owned 2 Deepsea and now I have a Mark I.The best SS model in the Rolex line.Love it and thinking that they are so understated.

Congrats, love that dial! Appreciate comparing the wearing experience with your 116660 - good to see that the wider lugs/bracelet help sturdy the case more on the wrist. Wear it in the best of health

116660 was my first real watch and first Rolex. It was my gateway drug. Not sure it’s because it was my first, but still feels the most special to wear. If I’m on the boat or hanging by the pool, it’s the go to.

Have a lot of history with that 116660 black dial ...

Bought in 2011 at less 28% (Not kidding ! ) new from an AD .So it cost me very little and is worth much more now,as a bonus.
Been with me to the USA/Italy/Mauritius/Seychelles ...Its always the one watch I pick.
Looks damn fine for 10 years of service .Its a hard wearing reference.
+1s/Day for 8 years ,now at +3s/day .Still not going for service .
It has presence that fits my wrist well .

Back to the Deep Blue ,yes, the dial works extremely well in the DSSD design .

Wonderful!!! Would you keep both in your collection?

I bought a black 116660 a few days ago and I like it so much that I hope to add a JC next year.

Congrats

Congrats. I love that Deep Blue. I tried it and just can't pull off the size; looked and felt like a hockey puck on my 6.5" wrist. Enjoy!

Makes sense ,for 6.5 inch there are much better alternatives .

Congratulations! That second-to-last picture in your thread starter, the first wrist shot, is terrific, OP.

About to visit my AD later this week, hoping already they have a DSSD in stock they can show me for those recent incomings have made me want to give it another try real bad.

Cheers
Marc
