Thickness comparison with my daily 116500
About 1mm in difference there, and the pelagos sits much flater to the wrist

Better than a Rolex?...I love it when people always have to comment, better than a Rolex!

I never quite understood these "my watch is better than your watch and is the best watch of all" threads which are arguably against the forum rules.

Nice looking watch for sure. Congrats.

But I would personally rather have a sub instead as i prefer the look and feel of it more.

This pelagos wears more comfortable than the Daytona, and it's also thinner than most Rolex diver watches.

Tudor watches are really great. We can safely agree, they are different than Rolex and less expensive.

ETA movement, can’t be better than any Rolex. The bracelet is not good compared to the oyster bracelet. The clasp is really cool, and the watch looks great, but it’s nowhere near the seadweller or the sub.

Of course, the OP must know that his watch is not "better" than a Rolex...there are plenty of brands that are but Tudor is not one of them. he may like his watch more than a Rolex but, perhaps, its more of a case of him trying to justify/rationalize his choice by wanting to find others who will agree......that's not happening. Either way, enjoy!!!!

Glad you're enjoying your watch. Better on the wallet than a Rolex for sure.

It's a different kinda watch it's made from titanium which probably Rolex would never use.
All the big watch companies have a couple of titanium pieces but not Rolex. Ever wondered why?

Wish they would've done blue with the ETA movement.

I think I'd take that over a Sub or a SD.

It's actually running at +1 sec per day for the last 4 weeks or so.

The lume is great. The rest, bah. Super thick, I couldn’t get used to it.

Come Rolex fans. Defend your master!

That is what any thread where people give credit to Tudor becomes. Heh.

Exactly the point...It can't be better than any Rolex and this truth isn't so farfetched.

I have a feeling that in a couple of years time theses will be sought-after. Also for the short run period.

While I don’t know if it is better or not than Rolex, it is a great looking watch and at first glance thought it was my 114060.

You're going to have a hard time convincing people whom have $8K+ invested in a dive watch that your $4k watch is better. Especially against those who can't see past "Rolex"

That said, most objections are subjective- "i think it's too thick", "hands too fat/not pointy enough" etc.
In the areas of importance - time keeping, general durability, utility for purpose then the Pelagos is just as good and occasionally better; Eta and the 5612 are both capable of COSC accuracy, with the 70hrs power reserve on the latter being being another plus. Add the better visibility and legibility thanks to lume and the AR coated crystal, lighter weight, (this being a positive in most arenas of performance ), clever auto ajusting bracelet, then it is, arguably, a better dive watch than the Sub.
Subjectively I think it's better looking, more interesting and, for me, better sized ( all my watches are 42 +).

I'd take the Pelagos over a Sub any day.

It’s better than a Rolex because you can walk into a Tudor AD and actually purchase one.

I don’t understand the thickness part it’s .7 mm thicker than a sub and 2mm thinner than SD4K and 4.2mm thinner than DSSD.

The Pelagos is a great watch no question. I have had 3 of them so something keeps bringing me back to it. I love the titanium. It does not pick up scratches as some will say. It kept great time. Better than my Rolex. The one thing that really bothered me and I think will keep me from owning again is the issue with the bezel getting stuck after being in salt water. This was a constant issue and just should not be happening for a watch designed for diving.

The Pelagos needs no defense, it's a hell of a watch for the price. It's a hell of a watch regardless of price actually, gets more wrist time than my DSSD and has taken a good beating over the years. Better? Probably not for everyone, some people like shiny things with the name Rolex on it

Some people will never see past the name Tudor, just let them be and enjoy the price these are selling for. I think if the Pelagos was released under the Rolex line with a crown on it instead of a shield, many of those same people would be lining up at the AD begging to get their names on a waiting list to drop 10k on it.

Sorry to hear about your experience, I actually had the same problem for the first week until I learned that the bezel has a safety feature that doesn’t allow it to move as easily when submerged under water, and in order to over come that safety feature you just have to apply a little bit of pressure on the bezel while turning it and you will find that it turns smooth and easy like you’d expect from such a piece.
