This year I traded a DJ41 and a SD43 for my white Daytona. No regrets for the diversity and wearability it gives me and with my sub I don't miss the SD43 although I still enjoy seeing pics of that beautiful bad boy.

Incomings were white Daytona, sub date, turquoise OP41, and white gold AL&S moon phase.

Crazy year...4 out, 5 in. Came across pieces that I didn’t know that I needed to have. Now in a state of placid contentment...

Added the DD40 and the DSSD 126660 JC. Sold the DSSD 116660 in the background. I didn't realize this until now, but I guess my 2020 Rolex theme is all about blue dials.

Goodbye:
Tourneau Gotham Chronograph
Hamilton Blue dial Pan Europe
Tissot 2009 Heritage Chronograph
Longines Heritage Chronograph
IWC 1954 18kt calibre 89 dress watch (for sale but thinking it'll move by the holidays)
Omega Speedy Pro Moonwatch
Omega Speedmaster 125th Anniversary Chronograph

Hello:
Gerald Genta Arena BiRetro
Breitling Chronomat Blackbird from 1998
116231 White Roman for my wife
126610LN for my newborn (but I'm gonna borrow it for a couple decades)

I've been selling pieces from my collection for a few years now but have picked up a couple chronos, including some grails. After over twenty years of collecting, I realized I own watches that won't get anymore wrist time, but I still want(ed) to pick up a a few pieces that I know I might only have a chance to wear a few times a year. This is probably the most annoying hobby/OCD I'm the world but it's equally gratifying when you find that right piece.

This year I added the BB58 in both colors, Cosmograph Daytona 116500LN White Dial, and North Flag.

I have let go of two Tudors; BB58 Blue and Black Bay 79220R (Red bezel, ETA, Rose) to help fund the Daytona. I sold for slightly less than I paid, to a close friend - these are his first Lux watches.

Yup, he made quite an impression on a lot of collectors back 15 or so years ago -- very polarizing! This watch is cool beyond my expectations. I keep noticing little things about it that impress me:
  • The very pale pink/cream/light blue enamel colors on the side of the case are washed-out versions of the brighter red/yellow/blue colors of the pushers and hands.
  • The hands all have different textures -- the red hand is shiny, whereas the yellow hand has like a matte powder-coated finish.
  • The bracelet attaches very close to the case, making the watch wear on the small side (relatively speaking), because of two troughs carved into the top and bottom portions of the case to allow the bracelet endlinks to swivel inside them.
  • Each day of the week is represented by a different facial expression -- basically 7 different little emojis (sad for Monday, very happy for Saturday and Sunday, etc.).
Also, the dial often looks more silver/metallic in certain lighting. Here are a few more:

Got a BLRO for my bday in September. Trying to find a home for my PAM88 that I no longer wear.

No sales. Added these. I’d love to end the year with a 126610LV but that’s up to the Rolex gods.
