Blue looks good in the watch box.
But you will likely reach for white a lot more.

Not black. That one just doesn't look as good as the others in the pictures.

I’ve got the blue but it was incredibly hard between that and “slate”. It’s arguably More versatile

I’d go blue.

Like you, most my collection is black dial except for a platinum dial yachtmaster.

I now also have four fluted DJ2’s. In my case white, silver, ivory (but that’s TT) and blue.

The blue is the most versatile and striking of all of them.

The silver is great and reminds me of a 1960’s watch but can be difficult to read as the silver hands can blend into the dial. I still love the classic vintage vibe the silver dial offers however.

The Ivory works beautifully with the yellow gold TT.

The white can look bland, but has its place and I enjoy wearing it from time to time.

But the Blue can’t be beaten as the most beautiful all rounder.

Why not just buy the one you like best? Try 'em on, check them out μn the store and if you cannot decide, go back and give them a second look.

As much as I respect TRF and it's members' opinions, I'd never make a purchase based on other people's likes and dislikes. And let's face it: people are going to recommend the watch they own. Completely understandable but hardly a way to select an expensive item in my opinion.

When you try on 'the one', you'll know it. You *have* seen all your potential candidates in person right? If you're going by 3rd party opinions and photographs you might end up extremely disappointed. Good luck I hope things work out for you.

I'm not a fan of blue or I should say it's the color I like the least out of the choices we have but based on your collection, I can see why you're leaning that way and why many suggestions state it.

You have enough black dials.

I like the slate/rhodium but you have the yachtmaster which covers that dial color almost.

I would suggest the white if you're looking for something different.

Thank you for the post. It's interesting and it does help to get the opinions and comments. Of course I'd only buy what 'speaks' to me. If I didn't have what I'd have, I'd get the black face without a doubt, now it's likely Blue or White. In a perfect Rolex world, which is not one I live in, I'd have all models and dial selection to choose in person!

Even if I did, I am enjoying sharing the process here and the feedback received.

I'm feeling the same way for the same reasons. (Except likely White!)

(I'll try to see the Slate as well!)

Going to try to see Slate in person as I don't think pictures do it justice.

Keep it simple. I realize the black dial is not part of this discussion but what a great dial. Almost gray under certain lighting. Smooth bezel on an oyster bracelet can be sporty and business.

Slate. Something about how the slate (rhodium) dial and the WG bezel reflect off each other makes it special. Mine's under the tree and will be on my wrist tomorrow!

After you commenting on my post, I’m surprised you’re not considering my datejust41 configuration!! It’s clearly the best ;)

Haha! Clearly!

I do love it and it's what pushed me to decide to pick up a Datejust as I no longer have my 36mm.

It doesn't seem like Rolex AD's are getting much more this year and I doubt I even get to see any of the combo's I am considering.

and we agree! Yours is clearly the best one!

My 2 cents.. I was debating between the blue and the black 41mm. The blue I think just a tad bit nicer, however, I thought it is easier to dress with the black one so went with that one.
I will buy a blue probably still, unless I get a blue Sky-Dweller..

I didn't realise you have quite a collection already! You certainly know what you're doing with regard to Rolex watches. I mistakenly thought you were new at this and I apologise for my assumption.
Again, good luck and by all means, post some pix when you acquire your desired reference.
Sincerely,
Mark

The blue one. I have the same configuration and absolutely love it. Your other choices are great as well. You really can’t go wrong with any of the DJ41’s.

I agree and if my AD calls and shows me any of these, it's likely I'd get it, whatever it was. They are all great. I'd even take alanln25's Wimbledon that got me motivated to add the Datejust41 to my 'wish list"!
