Hartgers in Wyckoff and in all fairness they carry other brands so the couldn't really just devote half their store to Rolex.

I can only guess that Rolex probably doesnt want any mall ADs and/or too many ADs within X area. But its sad to see this happen.

Well that sucks for them, having taken on the significant overhead of a larger footprint and
store fit out.

Not that I know of, I was just replying to your question about which AD had the 2 cases.

I also went on the Rolex site to see what AD's were still listed in northern NJ. I see that Morre Lyons in Clifton is no longer listed as an AD. I wondered when they lost their AD status.

It's not Lee Perla that is losing their AD status. The mall AD that is likely being referred to is Sidney Thomas in Short Hills.

I’ve been hearing for months that Sydney Thomas Shirt Hills was losing its status - has anyone heard why? Surprising there will not be an AD in the Short Hills mall given the other stores there and the surrounding communities.

We’ll have to check at on April first to see wont we...but i know they are losing status.

I doubt AD in short hills will lose status even though its in a mall, its so high end there vs where le perla is. The rolex mgr at short hills wasnt the greatest.

The mall where Lee Perla is is high end. It's not like the other regular malls in the area like Garden State Plaza, Paramus Park Mall, or Willowbrook Mall.

Why did Lee Perla just recently expand their store to accommodate a bigger section for Rolex if they are losing status then?

All, Lee Perla is not losing AD status.

Was contacted by a credible source.

I encourage everyone in NJ to have no reservations about using Lee Perla for future purchases!

Stopped in to my local AD looking for a GMT

I've never heard of Lee Perla and I've never been to The Shops at Riverside. But, after reading this thread... I was shocked to hear Rolex would pull the plug on these guys.

I'm glad that IS NOT the case -- as that would have been a truly f*ed up thing to do. I'm all in favor of trimming ADs... but to chop a retailer that just spent hundreds of thousands on a renovation would have been a ruthless move -- even for Rolex. They basically built a stand-alone Rolex Boutique within this mall (with a designated Rolex entrance and everything) -- which is something Rolex is demanding more and more.

Rolex reseller agreements are super one-sided as Rolex has all the power and there is no shortage of retailers who would kill to obtain an affiliation with Rolex. Rolex has all these guys by the short hairs.

Sounds like Rolex is doing what Porsche did with its dealers in last decade.

Every Pcar dealership is now palatial compared to some of the semi shabby dealers they had.

Unfortunately, I've heard the same as well.

They've treated my family well and hope the best for them.

Good news on Lee Perla-they are a class act.
I wish that I could say the same about the mall guys at Short Hills. The three times I visited, they were completely obnoxious. They also closed their Garden State location a few months ago.
