Saw the BB Bluey the other day - sooo nice!
I've almost caved for a BB GMT or even standard BURGUNDY BB.....
Enjoy mate, can't ever take for granted spending time with those closest to you.
I did the same with my SD43 months after I bought it & that was about 18 months ago.
Life's too short

It’s quite refreshing to see you did the trade , the so called perceived loss of value in trading your hulk for a 58 Blue will be more than made up by the value in quality family time you will spend with your family, which is priceless . And also having some great adventures I’m sure , with the added bonus that the 58 Blue will be on your wrist . Please post some pictures of your travels when you go

I would have thought that pretty obvious based on the info provided. The hulk is probably worth 4 or 5 times what the BB58 cost to buy and 2 times what a new or older submariner would cost, and the OP wanted to free up funds for a vehicle for the family.

Smart financial move IMHO! At the end of the day- also a Rolex- it's just a watch! Huge congrats with your other goal and enjoy the comfy '58!
NICE PIC BTW

Each to their own I guess, but I won't be voluntarily parting with my Hulk unless I had no financial choice to keep it.

Good for you.

You probably made a few memories with the Hulk, but you will make many more traveling with your family.

I have owned my BB58 Blue for nearly a year and it gets the most wrist time. It’s on the small side, but comfortable, fun to look at and you can feel the quality in the bracelet.

Don’t look back and enjoy the BB58.

Great trade. You get a very good watch (the BB) and get to spend amazing life moments with your family.

Best trade ever. God bless.

Awesome! Great to see someone simply going with their gut, buying what the like, and flying in the face of the ever present "investment/resale value" concerns that unfortunately overshadows Rolex so much these days.

I would have sold it and bought a Casio to be able to buy an RV and travel with the kids. Those are some of the best memories camping and RVing with them. No watch is worth trading for that. Enjoy the journey.

Good move man, the new watch looks great. I recently got the 41mm black version and am very happy with it. Tudor makes a very nice watch but at the same time, it's a much less serious watch than a Sub. I've been enjoying the heck out of mine. Watch collecting isn't about the "investment".... it's meant to be fun and enjoyable.

But travel with family has an expiration date whereas Rolex is just a freaking watch you can easily pick up.

I am thrilled you were able to enjoy the Hulk while you had it, and when priorities in life changed, it was able to provide you the resources to get something you can enjoy with your family as well as another watch which you'll enjoy and take on your new adventures!
As affirmed by most all the people who responded, family first - time spend and memories made are more important than a watch. Material things will come and go, but you only have so much time with your family, especially if you have little kids!
Your post is so refreshing, especially in the current culture shift where it's all about the person, their "needs" and desires for self-pleasure and self-fulfillment.

Our life's priorities change over time, our plans don't always work out the way we assume they will, I have always maintained that I will never sell yet I am now having to consider selling to help fund a house move.

OP, you made a life choice and it was a good one, enjoy your travels.

Great post. These luxury trinkets can become all consuming with ever bigger incomings. Great to see you have gone the other way, and it’s a win-win in my book. You have a fabulous watch, and a lovely thing to enjoy with your loved ones.

100% bravo sir.

Best trade I've heard about on the forums. Headed off on a family adventure with your new travel trailer and a great watch on your wrist I doubt you'll ever have a single regret.

Congrats! It's just a watch even if it is a Rolex and everything has a price. You leverage the watch value and got another decent one and a trailer which you can now spend more time with your family which if this pandemic has taught us is one of the most important things in life. A hulk isn't. It's just a great trade imo.
