I think through this comparison so often- I say DJ36, black stick dial, smooth bezel on oyster bracelet. Best of all worlds. Perfect 1 watch choice IMO.

Back in January I was waffling between Explorer and Datejust, too, Dimi. I chose the DJ because i reallllllly like having the date on my wrist, and I like the slightly dressier aspect of it. I asked for blue, sticks, and fluted, on a Jubilee bracelet...and I think mine may be coming in the next couple weeks. I know you'll enjoy whichever you choose, though.

My wife has a Datejust 41 and she likes the date complication for her life style/job. For me I had a date complication on a previous submariner, but my second turn with the submariner line up left me without a date. I’m not as dependent on a date for my job, so I don’t miss it. Point of this story, don’t be so convinced a date is necessary factor in determining which Rolex to buy. Get the one that’ll fit your lifestyle and your ultimate goal of why you want a Rolex. I doubt either of those reasons are tightly connected to being able to see the day of the month and if they are, then the choice is easy. Post a celebration picture once you decide!

Oranges.

In this case go 39mm Exp 1.

Also, give yourself the luxury of 2 Rolexes. But I applaud the attempt at one only.

Both are great watches. The 369 is classic and easy to read, fits with almost any attire. the DJ also classic, and if I needed a date that is the watch I would choose, but I would get it with the fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet. Good luck choosing!

If only one, I would go DateJust.
