rolex two tone?

Back when preowned universally traded below MSRP except for the Daytona, TT did not hold their value as well as stainless. The premiums on TT now lag the stainless, by and large. However, my recollection is the TT Sub has always been the strongest, as far as TT relatively, in holding its value. I just bought a TT Daytona new. My first TT. I think that TT has improved as a result of the stainless shortages and a reimurgence of popularity. For a while it was an old person’s watch, eighties if you will.

Thank you, I feel like a bit of a tit. We've done a lot in a short period of time on Rolex but to order a watch and not really check whether its a date or not.... They are all staying in the family regardless and I hope to have my kids wearing before i'm dead. :)

A Rolex is a Rolex is a Rolex.

As others have posted, if you like the watch and can afford it, go for it. Obviously, it's "as good" as any other Submariner, mechanically speaking. Some like the two tone look, some don't. All that matters, as the potential buyer, is what you really like. Only your aesthetic taste matters in this case, not ours.

I'd always advise against buying a certain model simply because it's available. If you'd really, truly, prefer the stainless steel Submariner, or Submariner Date, then hold out for the watch you prefer.

Unless you're a world-class, infallible psychic, you should only buy any watch if you like it and want to own/wear it. Buying for any other reason is a potential recipe for disaster.

Don't think you can go wrong with any Rolex Model. All will retain its value and definitely will go up over time.

I love TT, and just bought Bluesy. It will hold value but NOT the reason to buy the watch. More specific to the question, in Denmark the TT black Sub is trading (gray) closest to list price, ie Bluesy at gray more expensive to buy. Is that useful for an offer on the TT black Sub? Buy it if it’s the watch you want (to wear). I did with the CHNR; love the aesthetics of the watch, don’t care about what is more or less popular or holds value better. I bought it because I love it!

Well it’s not as sought after as the SS Sub, because it’s traditionally seen as a tool divers watch. However, in this day and age a Rolex is probably rarely bought as a diving instrument and more so as a luxury timepiece that serves as jewellery.

So taking from this a further “enhancement” would be TT and then full gold.

But TT kinda holds a no mans land position as the SS has held to its “roots” of professional timepiece and the all gold holds true luxury status.

It all comes down to perception really. If you like. You buy. If you don’t then don’t.

Asking if it’s worth it, well in other words
Will you recoup your money? Past and current market trends would suggest you probably break even on TT. But the future may be different. Gold may get to such a high value that it’s used less and less, pushing prices of TT up. Who knows.

You’ll probably not lose and you probably won’t gain. Don’t treat like an asset and only spend what you’re comfortable to not think about.

I just bought the same watch and its my daily. It is a beautiful watch and I love it. In my opinion it will increase in value and be higher than msrp moving forward.

Any Rolex outside of a Datejust is hard to get right now. Will that always be the case, doubtful but for now it is.

I love my TT. Great weight, like the flash. I have both SS and full PM models.

I think it will hold its value and would be a fine buy. I don’t think you lose on the trade in/up.

I pulled the trigger on a 116613lb as my first rolex. It's a good piece, but it shines too much, so later down the line I sold it. Value wise it will not yield you as much as the stainless steel model, but I got 15% when I sold it (Didn't get it from an ad/boutique)

I personally prefer watches other than TT but that’s a completely subjective thing. I have friends who won’t buy anything but a TT.

As noted repeatedly, if you will enjoy wearing it buy it. If in the coming years you decide that you are tired of it, it’s a Sub. It will be in demand.
