My first choice would be 3940, then 5170G…perhaps I prefer complication The good thing about 6119 is that you can get one brand new…produced in your wedding year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

When I read your post and before I came down to your suggestions I was already thinking;
This must be a Lange 1 Moonphase in RG. The 5196 is def. a nice watch, but imo nothing compared to the Lange. Only plus for some I guess is it says Patek on the dial. I would also say 6119R, but this would wear large on a 16 cm wrist beacuse of the lugs. Lange 1 Moon I love all the others, 5205, 3940, 1815 chrono, 5170J. But if you dont like calendar I guess just skip those. There is really only one other piece I would want you to take a closer look at, The Vacheron Constantin Traditionelle Patrimony in RG. With the guilloche dial. 82172/000R-9888 Is the ref. 38mm would wear perfect! https://www.vacheron-constantin.com/...000r-9888.html There is also one with a plaine dial if you prefer that. 82172/000R-9382 Good luck and congratulations! |

Lange 1 Moon Phase is pure elegance. I wonder if you can still get the platinum version.

Update:
I *finally* selected a wedding watch: the third series 3940R. Sadly, it didn't land before my nuptials in Italy, but I did manage to wear it when I got legally married here in the States - there's me signing the marriage license wearing the watch for the first time. I'd like to tell you the watch was selected because of the history of the reference, importance to the brand, the grand complication, etc. But the truth is, that's all just the cherry on top. I chose this watch because it feels like me. It looks proportionally correct on my wrist. It's class. It's elegant. It works with a t-shirt and a suit. Simply put, it fits. That's how my wife feels to me: she just fits in my life so perfectly, I couldn't imagine life without her. Hopefully, I'll never have to. This will be no safe queen. I plan on wearing this watch very, very regularly. Thank you to the gentlemen on this thread (and off) who helped me get here. I look forward to many years with my lady on my arm and this piece on my wrist. |
