Interesting. Why did the other 2 stores not have inventory. My son recently bought a similar DJ 36 with Slate face and had to check 5 AD's in NYC.

I am not interested in SS Oyster or Professional, but the 3 AD's in Toronto and 1 AD in Vancouver that I visited all sell at MSRP on the Rolex Canada website.

Hoping the Rolex gods do the same for my 50th in 2022. Good luck to both of us.

I agree, these watches are usually freely available still at most AD’s. They were very happy you bought these. And like poster before said, now you would be in a good position to ask for a more in demand model. What you bought they sell to people who want to build their accounts (mainly) or to flippers who buy them in bulk so they get more sports models.

Anyone else having long wait times?
You should have no problem getting that so be patient. UNLESS you ordered some funky dial. I was quoted 2-4 months in April for a TT white/gold dial at an AD I had never stepped foot in before. Pay them a visit-I bet you get it by XMAS. Again, unless it is some tough dial like Wimbledon.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and my sight is on the classical models in TT or full PM. If they are freely available, then that is good for me, but the 1st and 2nd AD's both said it could be months or more than 1 year for them to get the exact or similar DJ configurations we wanted. The 3rd AD had exactly what I wanted, but not exactly (only similar) to what my wife wanted and I had to convince her.

I think "supply" is as much of a factor as "demand" (Economics 101). As with other global premium brands, Rolex carefully manages production of a quantity for each model to maximize sustainably high profits.

It’s all random is what I have gathered. I suppose it comes down to how much your AD likes you. It took a lot of effort to get the first black Sub (2-3 months) and then 7 months for an LV Sub. That was for my dad. My absolute dream watch for myself is a Daytona panda so I’m working on that. God knows how long it’s going to take for that watch.

BLNR -> 2014, no wait.
Sub LV -> 2015, no wait (Stolen in 2017)
Sub LV -> 2017, no wait (had even the option to get it from 2 or 3 different ADs at my city)
BLRO -> 2018, 5 months

Great His/Her pair!

3 AD's in Toronto told me they don't bother taking orders because deliveries are completely unknown.

In 2015, I had my pick of a 116520 in black and white, both sealed. Picked up the white one.
I’ve been waiting since October 2018 (originally for a Hulk but now 126610LV).

With all this lack of stock problem of getting ANYTHING, it is as if Rolex has gone out of business.

I am fortunate though as I have been dealing with the same owner for many years. He doesn't make me buy anything I don’t want nor has the ever asked me to bundle anything. I see a watch I like and I order it and he always comes through. A long term relationship with an owner not a sales rep is the only way to get what you want when you want it period.

That’s awesome Ken, wish could score a BLRO with mine, on either jubilee or oyster! 3 years and counting

Hang in there, RJI. For me, it was 6.5 months for a blue DJ 41 with fluted bezel on Jubilee. Back in January, when I put down a 20% deposit, I was told there was one guy ahead of me who wanted the same thing, so they thought maybe 2-3 months for me. However, updated guesstimates came and went, as did periods of It looks like the shipment should come in next week or two...to rinse and repeat. It finally came, though. What I've learned from this forum is that nowadays ya just never know...

Pre COVID I wait close to a year for my submariner. Called a random AD when the sub 41 was released asking for the sub 40. Got a call back the next day.

I think the OP should have qualified his question by adding ' this year'.

Purchases prior to the last 12 - 18 months do not provide an accurate picture of the current wait times in my opinion.
