Take the diamonds off the lugs, crown guard and bracelet, and it is a really nice looking watch. Not for me, but beautiful.

At this level buyers aren’t specifically looking for a tool that marks time, it’s not about functionality and I think it’s silly to argue the point or expect it. A pave dial Submariner/Daytona with a jeweled bezel isn’t really a chronograph anymore, it’s a piece of jewelry designed “like” a chronograph. It’s not a watch an astronaut, Warren Buffet or Spock would buy, that’s not logical. But it is the watch Justin Bieber, Mark Wahlberg and Beyoncé would buy for Jay-Z and that’s not opinion but facts.

Well based on reality and facts your statement is easily proved false. RF gets free watches from Rolex, he’s sponsored so he essentially wears for promotion but his wife well, as Maury Povich would say, the google detector determined that was a lie.
Trying to delegitimize a purchase decision based on what some other rich guy does is a hopeless venture. Let’s not get on our high horse and be the beacon of taste and decision making because one would chose to wear a Rolex OP, because then you’d have someone like Bill Gates laugh at you for even that. Better to just say, that’s not for me, I prefer other things.

Priorities in life can be swayed by a multitude of factors but for most it’s like the image below. I can humorously relate…
