Not all Breitling chronos has their in-house movement. Breitling B01 movement is said to even better than Daytona and the reason is simple. It was made in modern era and had Daytona in reference. The current Daytona is powered by the 4130 movement that debuted in the reference 116520 circa 2000. In 1992 Rolex was still using a modified Zenith movement in the Daytona.
You are correct that the B01 is more recent, although the 4130 has had some incremental improvements along the way.
