Continue rinsing.
Removing a ceramic bezel is not a DIY.

Wrong watch for the activity. This is the reason I bought an Explorer II, living in Alaska is the perfect watch to go hiking and explorer. My Sub and Daytona more for other occasions.
Learning experience, and easy fix problem. Enjoy your watch

They do make a desert dweller, it’s called a G-Shock!

Your watch and your choice, but a watch designed to sit on a pilots wrist and display multiple time zones probably wasn’t the right watch to be rolling around in the sand with. Oh hindsight, my old friend….

After washing have you tried spraying air underneath the bezel? I usually use a can of air duster to chase water out from underneath the bezel.

This is incorrect. We did not verify if he got into a vehicle as the driver, in which case his warranties would have been voided unless he strapped on a Daytona.

Thanks for the chuckle this morning hahaha!

Wear it everywhere and repair when necessary. No biggie.

Amazingly enough I had the same thing happen with a DSSD. Yes, the king of the ocean is rated for 53 miles of depth but but if you wade around in 3 feet of water and build a sand castle then you get sand in the bezel.

Some sand is incredibly fine. There is no seal to keep gunk out of the bezel mechanism.

I ran mine under running water while rotating. I still think some sand is in there. I'll get it fixed someday.

Judging from a stupid thread earlier—you could probably just put it in the dishwasher.

Despite my curiosity for a homemade fix, this is my sentiment as well.

If that training in Raton was what I think it was, it's no wonder you got plenty dirty.

For future reference, wear a watch that has a fixed bezel or a wear a G-Shock.

One good dust storm here can trash a windshield, so that you can hardly see through it when the sun is just right, because there are so many pits.

I’m in sand and surf with mine and this is common issue. Warm water and dishwashing soap. Pour a bit of liquid dw soap on bezel and spin. Run warm water over it and continue to spin. Leave soaking in warm soapy water 20 min. Spin like crazy. It should come out clean like new.
