I asked my AD for an Airking in May 2021, he told me: the first one that will arrive is for you, I will get it to you in 1 or 2 months maximum.
Since then, he hasn't received one and I trust him to tell me the truth.

I have had 2 Air Kings..the old style.
I bought the 1st in 1986 in Houston, TT gold, jubilee with white face & Roman Numerals.
I got the 2nd in 1999 in Interlaken, Switzerland, SS AK.

Loved em both.

I don't really care for the newer ones

Very, very few people even care about that model

That's what you and others will say now, but if it's discontinued everyone going to want one... My first Rolex and no regrets..

Remember this time last year when everyone was so sure the JM and Plat Daytona's were not long for this world?

Yeah... Speculation is exactly that

It doesn't matter what the flippers think they're worth, it's the people that really want one will pay out the nose just to have it. Just look at other SS models that are ridiculously priced right now. When something is discontinued everybody wants one and don't care about the price. I won't sell mine because it's my first Rolex and I really happy with it. So different from the rest of the SS models and that's what I like..

I'm with you on this, I'm never selling. Must admit wasn't too keen when first saw it but more I saw it I got my name down and loved it more every time I put it on.

I don't care if it gets discontinued or stays as I have mine and I don't care about the value of it. Doesn't mean anything to me

Airking update from AD

Wouldn’t be surprised if it vanished this year. It was designed purely to echo the dials of the Bloodhound landspeed record attempt as the cars backup dials. The project ran out of money and Rolex gave up the sponsorship for the company taking it over. So it’s kinda a special watch with a fascinating modern history! Get one while you can!!!

It will very very very likely be discontinued or (hopefully) significantly redesigned soon. I am 100% sure it will go up in value when that happens. It will likely be along the same path as the white Milgauss or white OP39. They are 50-100 % above MSRP. The Air King is already part way there since the shortage has caused even it to sell at a premium on the grey market.

I still don't want one.

AD's know nothing.
They never did and they never will.
Rolex shares production information with NO ONE !
People need to get this through their heads and stop the rumors. Especially the AD's.

Sellers just increasing the prices of these on a daily basis. I watched one on ebay go up from £7495 to £11495......needless to say its had no bids. If they discontinue the model it will go up more then tank like the 39mm Explorer did.Only fools will buy them at such lofty prices. One bunch of Instagram based greys promotes a classic line..'We don't sell watches....we sell investments' What tosh.

Yes, discontinue it and you'll see all the people criticizing it will want one when it becomes hard to get and the prices will go up like the Hulk. He who laughs last, laughs best.

I hope rolex keeps it just to have some diversity in its lineup.
But the oversized numbers remind me of Jitterbug phones.

Yes, there will be those people just like there are with every single Rolex that is discontinued. People want what they can't have. Many will still simply not be interested, as hard as that is for some to accept.
