I recently swapped my Jubilee onto the BLNR, a brushed Sub glidelock oyster onto my BLRO and a RubberB onto my black GMT II.

To me this is the perfect configuration for now

Correct, it’s a compass.

You put the 36 on the Current time at the GMT ‘inner’ ring and then point the hour arm at the sun.

North will be at the 36.

It does work

I just got this Squale (Italian for Shark) today, very pleasantly surprised about Squale’s workmanship. The watch feels real heavy, has an ETA movement and I specifically sought out a ‘non-Rolex’ colour scheme, sort of... Squale is made in Switzerland and makes watches for the Italian police/army. It doesn’t seem they make this specific model in this colour scheme anymore, managed to get a NIB.

I would say it’s a lot of watch for the money. Actually i would say up there with Alpina.

My next project is looking at Eterna.

According to Squale:

“the Maio GMT Ceramica (ref. 1545MAI) - an upgrade from the fusing of 30 ATMOS PanAm GMT with white dial, combining the 2-toned 30 ATMOS Horizon's GMT black and blue bezel made in ceramic material.

Powered by a Swiss-made ETA 2893-2 automatic movement with quickset GMT and date function, this is the second white dial GMT model introduced by Squale in their 60 years of watching history.

The creme colored hour markers add a distinctive vintage taste to the entire timepiece, followed by the eye-catching black/blue bezel insert made of ceramic - a material known for its robust scratch resistance properties as well as its shiny reflection.”

Thanks ! Very interesting I didn’t know that.
Just a thought , we could also use a regular gmt and archive this too ? Use the triangle marker as the 36 ? And would it be possible get the same result ?

Yes, it should. Except that there’s no inner ring reference so you have to remember where to put the triangle marker. But the result should be the same, absolutely
