I wear my blue Sky dweller to bed every night. I feel naked without it on my wrist.

100% agree. It’s made to handle anything so I think it can handle being placed on the dresser without any thought.

I can’t sleep with the watch or anything on me so I place it in this holder.

In a Rolex travel bag. Don’t like wearing a watch at night. And I faithfully wipe it down. Pretty anal

Charge the lume and put it in the nightstand. Don't like it on the nightstand in case I'm reaching for something half asleep and knock it off (Yes I've done that and it's never been hurt. But try and avoid it)

Here’s how I do it, I like to charge up the lume with a UV torch and I lay it down on it’s side so if I need to check the time during the night it’s the right way ‘up’.

Thoughts?

My first thought was, "Why does he take his wedding ring off at night?"

My thought about the way you place your watch overnight is that I wonder if you've noticed that it loses a second or two each night from being placed crown up?

On my wrist where it belongs! Interestingly though, I take my wedding ring off at night. I read books on my phone every night and it’s more comfortable without the ring on.

I make a flavorless gelatin and place the watch in it halfway through it’s coalescence so it’s in a stasis. This effects as not only a tourbillon effect of removing gravity from the equation. But it also protects from oxidation and potential thieves. Silly thieves never check my Jello cupboard.

Dipped in mayonnaise and then wrapped with three coats of cling wrap. The mayo keeps seals and links lubed

Haha! Wedding ring is a bit tight, I have a developed a penchant for biscuits since getting married.

This is exactly what I was getting at tbf. It does lose a second or two but I thought this might be normal and I wasn’t sure if the night time orientation made a difference?

Well in general Rolex watches today gets such a pampered life so I have had a specially made Rolex bed made from the finest materials known to man,it's lined with the finest silk and specially padded with the finest softest Pashmina as not to scratch the extremely delicate 904L SS, now called oystersteel. Plus it has a built in winder to gently rock your Rolex watch to sleep and keep its heart ticking at a constant 28800 BPH. Plus the added feature of thermostatically heat humidity and air conditioned controlled to the COSC standard. As Rolex watches are very delicate and need extreme pampering if not they will self destruct .Its fully Programmed to lull Rolex watches to sleep when off wrist, with soothing ticking and whale sounds to help it drift into a place of peace and Rolex tranquillity.

Afraid the Rolex bed is at the moment a very secret prototype but will be taking orders soon once I have it it full production price expected to be $500 -$800 owing to winder expense as these winders are very special COSC certified motor ones..

But in the real world a Rolex is just a watch and does not care how the watch is left to rest at night off wrist flat, downside up, crown up or downsidedown or the need for a special resting cloth, stands, winders or special boxes when at home off wrist.

What´s happening to the watch-community? Is this what the market is all about nowadays? Treating your new watch as a precious royal crown not to be hairlined while laying on wood!? I mean, is a hairline-free watch somewhow a more obvious sign of wealth? Does a hairline-free watch make it more visible to others because it´s more shiny, thus letting more people now that your "wealthy"? Are you afraid it will depreciate in value if hairlined?

Sure, these watchstands look good, but really? It´s like buying a luxurious bed for your watch and putting it up on a pedestial for show. Really, you guys are buying sheets and pillows for your watch......for your WATCH! What´s next, putting a blanket on top of it as well, making sure no particles will harline the watch from above?

These things are of extremely high-quality and made in effing steel. For me, Rolex is a cool and sturdy product that should be weared by cool and sturdy people. Otherwise it´s a miss match and the watch is to cool for you and actually owns you/it´s to precious (Bilbo Baggins)......

Honestly don’t care about hairline scratches, was asking about the movement. It was more of a watch nerd question.

It comes off during intimacy out of respect for the lady, otherwise it’s on my wrist unless I’m cleaning it or working in tight metallic spaces.

I’ll only ever take it off at the polar opposite extreme ends of the usage spectrum.. or to clean it.

It’s not uncomfortable to sleep with as someone said, after a while it goes quite unnoticed.
