I grew up in Wheaton, now in FL. Lots of great food off the beaten path, dim sum in Chinatown, Greektown, Lou Malnatti’s for pizza, and the 9-course tasting menu at Arun’s on North Kedzie, the greatest Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to, James Beard Award winning and on the NYT list of 1,000 things to do before you die.

- Steak dinner either Maple and Ash or Bavettes

Both places are great for Rolex watch spotting :)

This. The bone-in filet at Bavette’s, paired with a Penicillin, the loaded baked, and strawberry vacherin would be my death row final meal if I ever found myself in the unfortunate position to choose one. At least I would die happy. I will be there next Sat night for my bday!

I have both.

My wife got me the LN as a gift for our anniversary. It's my first and favorite GMT.

The AD called a month later with the BLNR.

Thinking of bringing my family to Chicago in mid-March for a few days. Is there anything you guys from Chicago I could do with teenage kids while there to keep them entertained? I plan to bring them to a Blackhawks game as they are in town one night. How do we dress to the climate in mid-march?

Thanks!

My corporate building when I'm in town is over in the West Loop at Fulton Market, so great views of downtown proper.

Love that area. Very middle/young professional with lots of restaurants, bars, businesses. And seems to be super safe.

It’s fairly safe but I wouldn’t venture into the Greektown area, the highway overpass can get sketchy at night.

I have fond memories going to “Mr Greek” in my early twenties after a night out though.

Weather has been super mild in February, it’s going to be nearly 60 this Wednesday. I would bring a jacket and expect temps to get as low as 25-30 degrees.

Teens is a hard age I assume, but you could take them to Michigan Avenue or Willis Tower to do touristy stuff.

Maggie Daly park has an ice rink as well for skating. Museums are good but I doubt teens want to see that.
