Beautiful collection! I am in love with the Datejust with the blue dial. I would 100% keep that one!

I'd sell their DJ, sell the SD and get another BLRN. You'd have a full case and a beautiful collection.

I'd sell them all and buy a vacation home in Spain or Italy! Then I'd get a SD43 or Deep Sea to hang with me on the beach!

Pare it down like I have recently done. Black Daytona and SD43--gone. All a sudden a Day-Date is appealing to me--yellow gold and white dial.

Never sell. Add PM to the collection (Daytona, Sub, GMT, DD).

If I were you I would buy a bigger watch box with more empty slots. Then you’ll have room to buy the watches the other guys are recommending.

A DD is definitely what would top of your collection. From your post, it sounds like the BLRO and the SD43 are the only two on the trading block. Selling both will get you close to retail for a DD. SS Daytonas hold their value well so those I would keep. The SD does not get great money but the Pepsi can. Only you know what you will sell. I would personally ditch the DJ if you are going for a special occasion PM piece. I have owned 3 DJs over my time collecting and have not missed any but the DD's stay with me and are special.

I’d get a white gold oysterelx Daytona or a white gold sub and a rose gold olive day date and sell everything. It’s fun to rebuild.

Based on your post, I suspect you will have misgivings about selling any of your watches. Ignoring your preferences and attachments, I would keep everything but the datejust and the sea dweller. Trade/sell those two plus add cash for a preowned WG sub or an oysterflex Daytona at retail. Based on your collection it doesn’t appear as if you need a dress watch so a Patek would sit in the case.

I'd sell 1 or 2 and buy another brand like PP to expand the variety

I’d keep the LV, Pepsi, Panda, and I’d sell the rest.

I’d keep it at that until I was certain there was nothing new I wanted—and consider branching out to some different brand. For me it was Patek, JLC, Moser, Lange, VC.

Yes, mistakes were made along the way, but now am pretty happy with where things stand.

I'd sell 2-3 pieces and upgrade to another brand. Rolex is nice but add a Patek Philippe or AP. Expand your collection

Just thought I would share my Rolex collection and ask for your thoughts. Sorry for the quality, hard to reduce the size and keep the sharpness.

I know ultimately it'll be down to me but it is always interesting to hear other opinions....

Each one of these watches have a little story in their own way so any would be hard to sell - but the thought does cross my mind. The obvious trade would be consolidate a couple of the SS pieces and get a PM Rolex. Previously only SS interested me, but now in my later 30s, I am starting to appreciate PM more and more!

Each were purchased from two different ADs.

- 36mm 16234 DJ was my first Rolex, it will never go!
- Used to have BLNR which I sold during the COVID peak
- 126610 LV is my wedding year, so don't want to shift this one
- 116500 LN white Daytona was my grail for SO many years, unlikely to sell this. The Daytonas only really come out on special occasions/weekends.
- I daily between the 126710 BLRO GMT (more comfortable) and 50th Anniversary 126600 Sea Dweller

What would you do? Any thoughts?
Wonderful collection, I would not sell anything, however would add a PM that suits your taste.

I want a Vacheron Overseas Chrono, about $35k, would need to move a few for that!

I’d unquestionably move the SD and one of the steel Daytonas and add a full YG piece.

Either a YG Daytona or YG DD.

Great collection and staying put is a great option. Personally, I would make a change (and did)… I have a ten piece collection and had both Daytonas too. I found having duplicate pieces in a smaller collection repetitive. Flipped the black dial for an AP and happy nearly two years later. I will lose value in the long run, but I try not over weight that part of the equation since I consider this a hobby and money spent. Cool to experience another brand and add a little variety to my collection. However, I was ready to move on, stay put if you are still in love since regretful selling is the worst.

Thank you for the replies, all very insightful and interesting suggestions! I did think the SD would be targeted a bit - I do like it a lot and it makes it a bit different to a black submariner. If I was to shift any, I think it would be the first to go...

I think I will hold fire for now, as I am unsure and don't want to regret any moves!

But, you know, perhaps you can always learn the 'lesson' of re-buying for more at something you sell today. Been there, done that, just trying to help.

jmho ymmv

Haha yes, I would love to, it is certainly an expensive hobby but does give me a lot of joy. Let's see!

Thank you, it is the one that started it all off and the blue is lovely. 36mm does feel quite small at times but this one will never go!

Good idea!! Any recommendations? I have seen the Bosphorous Leather ones which look really nice. Mine is only a cheapo Wolf one...

Yes, all from AD fortunately - I have used 2 and built up good relationships, definitely no easy game! There's been a few Datejusts, Omega, Tudor along the way too

Sell these and go get a PM watch:
1. LV - wedding year not day
2. Daytona Black - white dial is better
3. Sea-Dweller - meh

You could easily have ~ $44k here to put towards a PM watch (PM bracelet or Oysterflex)

Do it!

My collection - consolidate/keep/sell/do nothing?

I’d give up 2: black Daytona and SD, and get a YG gold DayDate 36, unless you have huge wrists. Then you’d need the 40.
