I don't wish to dilute the OP's joy so I'll just say that I'll create a separate thread after I return from travel and have the time, but that my Rolex addiction may also include a GMT II Pepsi and SS Daytona before I'm satisfied. I'll let my sons debate which one gets which watches.

Congratulations and wear it in good health and good humor.
Congrats to you as well! It is a lovely watch to be honest. Especially when the sun hits the dial, the different shades of blue is amazing. Hope you enjoy your one as well. Your sons are lucky to have such a wonderful father.

Thank you! Am thoroughly enjoying it. The shades of blue when the sun hits the dial is truly stunning. Was deciding between this and the Wimbledon dial but glad I went for the Blue!

Congratulations that’s a beauty. I chased sports watches and got a few but my DJ 36 in the same configuration as yours came later and it one of my favorites!

Each Rolex has its purpose. The Date Just is an excellent choice. I have a collection of Rolex watches and it wouldn't be complete without one, or more, in it.

Great watch! Congratulations. I’m sorry that it wasn’t your first choice. I hope you hold on to it because it’s a great piece.

Thanks once again for the congratulation messages. This DJ will definitely be a keeper. Never selling my first. Hopefully I can add a GMT and Daytona to my collection in the future!

It's a great watch but you sound like you don't really want it, which seems a bit of a waste. I'll bet it grows on you. Good luck with the rest of the journey.

Thanks Harry! I was meaning to say I had other watches that I wanted more, hopefully ones I can get in the future. But this was the one I wanted for a "realistic" first Rolex from an AD. It was between this and a Wimbledon Dial. But I am glad I chose the blue dial. Am really enjoying it at the moment.

Highly gracious sentiment, sir. I wholeheartedly agree that the blue dial is a work of art in many lightings, and I am reveling in looking at it repeatedly. I hope that my sons are able to enjoy and appreciate the Rolexes as much as I have enjoyed them. On a somewhat mischievous level I may well enjoy them wringing their hands on whether to claim my 2005 two line no date Submariner or my 2024 DJ41 blue stick dial!

Enjoy yours in good health and good spirits!
