Anyways a grey dealer messaged me on Moda saying he's noticed a lot more rare watches coming onto the market recently: factory string dials, etc.

I'm guessing the dealers are looking to inject liquidity and are selling some of their rare pieces they've held back.

From what I have observed. He is starting to sell a lot of the other brands...Either the big greys are not buying Rolex or people are not willing to sell to them at lower prices.

Got accepted on MODA (wife's FB since I walked away in 2014) so I could see Oz for myself.

It's nothing earth shattering just 18% lower prices than I'm used to seeing. Blue 4500V Vacheron for $32,500 was a steal... if I didn't get mine from AD I would have snagged that one.

I saw a lot of beat to crap watches as well... but yes, nothing earth shattering.. don't expect to see submariners sitting in the AD window anytime soon.

Spring 2019 If I recall that was mid $20s at DSW with blue dial high 20s low 30s. I'm holding out for that

At that time I think white Daytona was $19K and Pepsi was $15k.

I was the buyer on this. I had deposit down with AD for a year and not a single 126655 showed up at my AD in that time. Was offered 228239 WG Olive DayDate and my deposit was applied to that. I ended up with this yachtmaster for a few hundred bucks over MSRP (and tax). I took it to my AD as they just installed a Rolex service area with 2 techs. Great crew swapping out the OF pieces for me to the correct sizes under warranty as the watch was basically unworn.

RWB=Real Watch Buyer and is tag/level that is a paid subscription on Moda. I’m just an end user looking for watches I like that I can get and enjoy instead of sit on AD lists.

I bought my black 15400 brand new for 13.5K right here on this very forum in 2016. I might and I use the word might very strongly consider purchasing a 15500 at retail today but anything past that is absolute insanity and irresponsible in my eyes. Unless of course you’re so wealthy that money is meaningless to you. Then I can understand it.

Crazy that ROs and DJs (both new/mint) are commanding similar premiums at ~50%. It’s just a matter of time before we see these close to retail (~15% over msrp+tax).

You got ripped off. I'll give you $13,600 to make you whole since you're a nice guy

I think this fall the fed will pivot and begin lowering rates which should cause a risk on rally.

Since these are discontinued watches I would buy white for $25k and blue for $30k. I don't see teens having time to happen prior to a monetary policy reversal or change of command that is bullish for luxury buyers.

Black ceramic at 29.5. With the gap between black and panda closing, it might make the decision between the two a bit harder.

what did the 15500 debut at msrp wise? wasn't it like right around 20? i believe the 15400 was 16.5 (same with the 15450) and now both are 24-25k. has anyone even been able to get these from boutiques easier without purchase history yet?

15300 great condition going for 34.3k. Reversion to the mean continues.

Considering the absurd prices for some of these cookie cutter watches I'd rather pay slightly more for truly rare unusual models like early diamond set Royal Oaks.

The 15500 was around $19k~ if I remember correctly early upon release.

I was offered a silver dial 15450 last Feb w/ no purchase history. I passed on it because it wore a bit small. I would like a 15500 over the new 15510 because I prefer the logo on the dial.

Like new meteorite Pepsi w/ card sold for 60k on Moda.

Turquoise OP41 full set sitting at 25.5k

I gave up my tech bro life to pursue a passion so my income is zero. If not I'd be tempted to be making some big wires these days.

Way too early for any of that... more pain to come.

No reason to step out in front of it yet.
