Awesome. I’m quite sure Ryan Gosling wears this watch.

That's a really nice dial Tom! Thanks for posting.

Although I have a plethora of 5500's and am a big fan, I was not familiar with the 6552.

Here is the one that started me off on the Rolex Afficionado path. My gateway into Horology. My older brother took it off his wrist and gifted it to me back in 2001. There is a long story that I will not bore y'all with. Suffice it to say it is one of my most prized possessions.

As well it should be, that watch has a very special connection for you. That elegant combination of dial and bezel will never look out of fashion.

Cheers,
Rick

Right! I was having a hard time choosing between one like yours and the one I bought. I guess that's how a collection gets started.

Hello - I just joined and glad to see so many fantastic Air Kings out there. I’ve enjoyed wearing my 5500 daily for the past 20 years and still appreciate the simplicity and history of it as much (if not more) than when I first got it. Truly a perfect watch for any occasion.

So many great photos in this thread.

I bought my 1972-made 5500 this past December, and it’s my only nice watch so far. My next one will either be an Explorer (undecided as to which reference) or the new Air-King; I don’t understand the animosity the modern AK gets from some people, nor do I care, but I think it looks striking and fresh.
