Which rolex sparked your passion for the brand?

My Dad’s 6426 Oyster Precision Manual purchased in Malta in 1977 when we were on holiday there. I have just had it restored by my local RSC when he gave it to me recently as he no longer wears it anymore having embraced Apple Watches at 86 years old!

First the Datejust, which I erroneously believed to be the only model Rolex made until I was in high school. Then a watch enthusiast friend of mine who's dad had an impressive collection (I recall a Comex Sub) had a Pepsi and Sub that he would wear to school and I was surprised those were also Rolexes.

So yea, the DJ, Sub, and GMT were the ones that ignited my passion. Still the references I like the most.

The Rolex that sparked my interest initially was the blusey. Eventually got one, too!

The 31xx movement. Read about it for years as being one of the most durable, stress-free workhorses. Finally got one new in the Explorer 39 in 2021.
